Quick Overview

"Spicy, savoury, cedary lift, red currants, cranberry, pomegranate, pepper. Got it going on. Bright and juicy in the palate, spot on. Has a crispy crunch to tannin and acidity, sits high and bright and just darn yummy to drink. Touch sweet through the finish, but hey, that’s drinkability too. "
Rated : 93 Points Winefront.com.au

Grown on coastal sandy soils, hand-picked, destemmed, 5 days cold soak, wild ferment, 20 days on skins, matured for 15 months in French oak (18% new). Splendidly juicy, with a complex web of red fruits, dark chocolate and multi-spice overtones.
The winemaking has brought out the best in it. 95 points James Halliday

Product Description

Nero d'Avola (Italian pronunciation: [ˈneːro ˈdaːvola]; (Black of Avola" in Italian) is "the most important red wine grape in Sicily"and is one of Italy's most important indigenous varieties. It is named after Avola in the far south of Sicily and its wines are compared to New World Shirazes, with sweet tannins and plum or peppery flavours.

Nero d’Avola also thrives on the McLaren Vale coast on a sundrenched site in sandy soils.

Seductive Blackforest cake and spicy Kirsch aromas, support a rich, fleshy medium to full bodied wine, hallmarks of Nero d’Avola.
