Quick Overview

Bright purple.   Sexy aromas of boysenberry, cherry-vanilla and raspberry preserves, with spicecake and cracked pepper notes adding energy. Juicy, vibrant dark berry flavors show liqueur-like depth and very good back-end lift.   Supple tannins make a late appearance on the finish, which clings with impressive tenacity.   This is pliant and juicy enough to drink now but I'd bet on it being even better in a few years. 93 points Josh Reynolds

Product Description

Beautiful black, deep magenta hues. Coming from a very good year, upon release this wine is very restrained and elegant. Spicy red fruits, subtle char and pepper with underlying charcuterie, grilled meats and soft mocha and vanillin.

A burst of juicy red fruits on the early palate that remains throughout. As the fruit builds the mocha notes become more prevalent and finally the firm but fine tannins kick in and hold the palate together, balanced with subtle vanillin oak.

93 points Wine Spectator
Focused, juicy and vibrant, with raspberry, blackberry and pomegranate flavors, weaving in hints of violet, slate and loamy earth as the finsih takes off smartly. Offers depth and intensity, without much weight. Best from 2012 through 2020.

Dark in colour and character, with dense black fruit, mocha and a splash of complexing thyme; the palate is thickly textured, extremely ripe and very chewy, with tar and licorice prominent on the finish. 93 points James Halliday

Exhibits spicy black and blue fruits, charred earth, lead pencil, and sweet oak aromas on the nose. Giving way to more spice, red fruits, and floral aromas with air, the wine is medium to full bodied on the palate with a balanced, light texture, loads of juicy acidity, and a clean finish. While there?s ample fruit here, the wine carries it with style and is brilliantly balanced and very drinkable. While some tannin creeps in on the finish, I would opt for drinking over the coming 8-10 years. (93 pts.) Rhone Report
