Quick Overview

Delicious and Then Some...

94 Points

Rock solid Barossa Shiraz from Tim Smith. A blend of Eden Valley and Barossa vineyards seeing French oak for 20 months. It's delicious and then some. Fruit sweetness, cedar and baking spices reach out to your soul and grip with two hands. Caramel and milk chocolate feels chime in with generous dark berry fruit. Gliding without obstruction, the fruit lingers long with fine spices in hot pursuit. Decant to drink now or just throw it in a dark place and be patient. Drink eight years +

Product Description

The fruit for this wine is carefully sourced from several old vineyards in the Barossa Valley floor; areas include Tanunda, Seppeltsfield, Nuriootpa, Kalimna and Light Pass. Vine age is 100+ years for the oldest parcel and around 20 years for the youngest. It is the expert selection of these small parcels and subsequent winemaker prowess that creates the resultant reputable wine bearing the stamp of Tim Smith. Aged in a combination of new and old French oak, this wine is another that benefits from cellaring…if you can wait.

Imposing, dense and deep purple colour. A charming nose of quality French oak, dark plums and blackberries. It's weighty on the palate - showing textural width, as well as length. Fruit, oak, and tannin all in beautiful balance. Will age with grace. A delicious Barossa shiraz.
