Our Riebke Shiraz has won the praise of both the wine press and wine drinkers for over delivering on quality at an unbeatable price, and that is just how we like it.
The name is a tip of the hat to the Riebke brothers. We take a lot of our fruit from the amazing old Riebke vineyards in the Barossa's North around Ebenezer, Kalimna and Moppa and we wouldn't be where we are today without their hard work in the vineyard.
As always it is a wine jam-packed with rich Barossa flavours - plush, vibrant, and amazing value for money, the 2011 Riebke is bound to gather a few more fans in its travels.
So as you drink a glass of the Riebke, perhaps raise a toast to the Riebke brothers to celebrate their five generations of knowledge and hard work on the land.
Variety: 100% Shiraz.
Bouquet: Vibrant dark and black fruit aromas greet you as you sniff the wine...dark plum and blackberry along with black cherry and a hint of higher-toned mulberry fruit. Hints of licorice, milk chocolate, cola, blueberry compote, Barossa earth, Asian spice and perfectly judged, seasoned oak with a twist of black pepper.
Palate: Once again the Riebke over delivers on the palate with a wash of ripe, opulent fruit that flows across the palate with a great energy and a pleasing texture. Flavours of dark plum, blackberry and blueberries come into play along with a splash of cranberry. Hints of licorice, dark chocolate, earth, jasmin, five spice and subtle, seasoned oak nuances. Plenty of drive across the palate with a lovely line of bright, energetic acidity that seems to wrap around the ripe, chalky fine-grained tannins and the wine drives through to a finish that is poised perfectly.
