The vineyard is also essentially dry grown leading to concentrated, heady fruit with great varietal flavours.....structured beautifully and showing an energetic line of natural acidity.
Deep ruby red with purple flashes. Deep set, concentrated blackberry, blackcurrant and cassis aromas with hints of higher toned red plums coming through. There are hints of espresso, clove, dark chocolate, earth and licorice along with a waft of cool eucalypt.
Great weight, shape and texture in the mouth with vivid flavours of blackberry, plum and blackcurrant coming to the fore. The initial concentrated fruit entry flows into a smooth mid-palate showing flavours of rich spice, earth, espresso, mocha and licorice with lovely varietal cassis and light bramble characters.
The wine finishes with a flourish showing great balance, ripe, chocolatey tannins and a prolonged exit of macerated black-fruits and spice.
