Product Description
A native of the arid Rioja and Ribero del Duero regions of Spain, Tempranillo is well suited to the warm, dry summers of Heathcote. The wine is produced from a combination of two blocks within the Tar & Roses Heathcote vineyard. The batches are crushed and destemmed into potter fermenters and pumped over twice daily. After ten days of fermentation during which time the temperature and acid levels are monitored constantly, parcels are individually pressed to tank using an air bag press. Racked off gross lees and put to barrel for the completion of malolactic and maturation in a combination of new and prior use French oak barriques for twelve months. Alcohol 13.7%
