Quick Overview

"The Mappinga Vineyard was hand-picked over 2 weeks, rows selected daily, the grapes chilled before being pressed. The bouquet of lychee and other tropical aromas sets the scene for a palate of a plate of carefully sliced fruits and a squeeze of lemon. All of which may suggest this is just a fun sauvignon blanc, when in fact it has a beautifully poised and very long finish and aftertaste. Highway robbery at this price.

Product Description

Pale straw with vibrant hue. Citrus blossom with bright , lifted gooseberry and passionfruit aromas. Mouth filling citrus fruit from the cool climate Ashwood vineyard. Lime, tropical fruit and classic herbaceous flavours make this wine so appealing. A great backbone of natural acidity gives the wine length and makes it the perfect lunch time tipple.

Pale yellow in colour with bright hues, this wine displays pronounced aromas of mandarin citrus, guava, lychee with lifted notes of rose. The palate is vibrant with refreshing flavours of grapefruit, melon, citrus and green apples. The wine is driven by a balanced backbone of acidity and delivers a long delightful finish. This versatile wine is perfect on its own or complements Mediterranean platters, fresh seafood dishes or a fragrant salad as a vegetarian option.

Sidewood Estate consistently craft exceptional Sauvignon Blanc from the Adelaide Hills with this the best that I have had. The nose is punchy with guava, green apple and some sweeter lychee notes that set the wine apart from an aromatic perspective.  The palate has precise acidity and a melange of fruits that are centered around green apple with sour edged passion fruit giving texture and a flowing line of acidity an important textural counterpoint. Drying and taut to finish but showing plenty of fruit.
