A little bottle of deliciousness. I don't score, but if I did, I'd give this 96/100. Rating: 96 Points; Winsor Dobbin, Wine of the Week, January 2013.
... an extremely luscious brandy snap, cumquat, nut and tea palate. This is seriously old material; 375 ml; Rating: 94 Points; James Halliday
... it's refreshingly vibrant, balanced and without any hint of cloying sweetness. Rating: 96 Points; Tyson Stelzer; Wine Taste
One of the Barossa's greatest gifts is its unique collection of fortified port and sherry style wines. This 30 year old (average age) pedro ximinez is sensational, essentially an amontillado sherry with emerging nutty, caramel, apricot and raisin characters, bergamot and racy acidity remaining. Rating 5 stars Tony Love
The 2012 The Empress Riesling shows great fruit purity on the palate with fresh, expressive “Bickfords” lime cordial characters along with grapefruit and lemon sorbet zing. After the initial pure citrus flavours the wine glides across the mid-palate with an energetic gait showing hints of crushed quartz, orange blossom, white flowers and talc with lighter nuances of lemon curd and clotted cream. The wine finishes with a well-defined, minerally line of acidity that shows great energy and spark as it guides the pure citrus and floral elements through to a persistent and dangerously moreish finish.
Learn MoreLight, bright straw-green; the scented bouquet has nuances of wild flowers and herbs, together with the more usual lime blossom; the pristine palate has the hallmark intensity and magical acidity that will see the wine unfold its full glory over the next decade and long thereafter. From the Porongurup subregion. 96 points James Halliday Top 100 Wines

its quite delicious. Very long, that beautiful (again, guessing ) natural acid on a very long, fine and lingering finish. ... Beautiful wine, great fruit, great wine making, real class. Gavin Trott
Learn MoreOne of the most refined and pure wines of the vintage, it’s achingly pristine, impeccably poised, crystalline and underlined by beautifully structured, slatey minerality. Benchmark Lehmann. Drink: 2012-2014 or 2017-2022 95 points Tyson Tselzer
Learn MoreThe Barossa Wine Show delivered a result for the people this year, naming an $18 sensation as its finest white wine of any variety and any age. It ticks every box: delicate fragrance of lime blossom and lemon zest, precise palate focus of granny smith apples, slatey structure and an outstanding acid line that carries long into the finish. Drink: 2012-2014 or 2017-2022 94 points Tyson Tselzer
... firmer, more intense and filled with zesty lime juice flavours, bolstered and lengthened by good acidity; it carries its message through the length of the palate and aftertaste. 94 points James Halliday Top 100 Wines
Immediate wow factor here on first sniff. Perfume of lavender and talc, citrus and mineral. So pure and clean with bright crunchy acidity and a slatey dry deliciousness, yet it’s not overly austere, keeping a gentle fruit sweetness and mouth perfume that neatly offsets all those rocks and stones. Long and very fine. Brilliant wine. Rated : 95+ Points Gary Walsh. The Winefront.
