Woods Crampton High Eden Riesling 2014

    Regular Price: $19.99

    Special Price: $18.50

Pale, almost clear, with vivid green highlights.  The nose is very fresh and floral with notes of citrus fruit and bath powder. The palate is tightly wound with a long fine acid line and a dry, crunchy finish. Delicate lemon and citrus flavours provide an indication of the future profile of this wine with careful cellaring.

Banana pie (as a young wine), white flowers, creamed honey and lemon/lime. Rich flavour, touch of sweetness, gentle chalkiness with fine minerally acidity and excellent length. Softer, more approachable style.
No problem at all drinking it now, in fact, it’s almost hard not to. Finish has a bit more of the lime and pith you’d expect from a Clare Riesling. Finer bones will emerge with age, I’m pretty sure.
    Absolutely delicious. 93 points Winefront.com.au

94 points - "One of the highest vineyards in the Clare Valley, at 480m. Classic dry Clare style, with lemon, lime and apple blossom aromas, the strongly structured palate followed suit with a base of chalky/minerally acidity. Wines such as this are world-class. Drink 2024." James Halliday, www.winecompanion.com.au, September 2014
"Family head Peter Barry is raving already about how the '14 rieslings are looking, and this lives up to the spruik, buzzing with fresh, tongue-tingling citrus cut, edgy lime-juice acidity, and fine talc and pithy minerals in the mouth feel. Drink now if you're tuned to the style or age for 10 years." Tony Love's Top 100 Wines, The Advertiser, 19 July 2014

A little bottle of deliciousness. I don't score, but if I did, I'd give this 96/100. Rating: 96 Points; Winsor Dobbin, Wine of the Week, January 2013.
... an extremely luscious brandy snap, cumquat, nut and tea palate. This is seriously old material; 375 ml; Rating: 94 Points; James Halliday
... it's refreshingly vibrant, balanced and without any hint of cloying sweetness. Rating: 96 Points; Tyson Stelzer; Wine Taste

One of the Barossa's greatest gifts is its unique collection of fortified port and sherry style wines. This 30 year old (average age) pedro ximinez is sensational, essentially an amontillado sherry with emerging nutty, caramel, apricot and raisin characters, bergamot and racy acidity remaining. Rating 5 stars Tony Love

Extremely floral. Citrus blossom, jasmine and a hint of rose water. An impressive line of flavour with lemons and limes segueing into melon before the refreshment of a gin and tonic finish. Chalky grip on the back-palate. Should age well I’d imagine. 93 points Wine Will Eat Itself

..... It’s got plenty of flavour, but still stays refreshing, while acidity is lightly chalky, lightly green-apple-feeling. Nice drink 89 points winefront
....., we formed the opinion that the most powerful, aromatic wines from this Clare sub-region originate from this band of limestone”. Wilson 2014 delivers Watervale’s floral and lime-like aromas and flavours on a full but finely structured, delicate, dry palate. Chris Shannahan

Citrus blossom, almost lavender perfume, struck match, lime fruit. Fine and dry, but plenty of power packed in behind, light chalkiness, firm drizzled lime finish. Very good. Pure. Better wine than DJW, arguably, though I like the character of the DJW more. 94+ points Winefront.com.au

Nose is fabulous, pure Riesling, but with more. Lemon curd, lemon butter, lemongrass all mixed in with the usual cirtus scents, real; depth to the nose, with real class and poise, I'm realy impressed! Now somethign exotic, tangerines perhaps, then spices, and well on its goes! Beautiful nose ever changing and devloping! The palate too follows up ...  its quite delicious. Very long, that beautiful (again, guessing ) natural acid on a very long, fine and lingering finish. ... Beautiful wine, great fruit, great wine making, real class. Gavin Trott

The lime juice characters again dominate and run the length of the palate. The floral notes are just evident and the natural acidity gives focus and drive. The wine is zesty and has an incredibly tight and linear structure, yet has great generosity and succulence, as is the want of great Riesling.
The wine is tight and restrained with an attractive delicacy now, yet will blossom with age for at least fifteen years.
