Moorish and enticing. Line and length; firm yet balanced natural acid structure. Flamboyant and extravagant. Full of ginger spice.
Showing some youthful freshly bottled asafoetida stink on opening, but so fresh and juicy with lemon/lime, slate and green mango flavours. ...So tasty. A strong release and a great follow up to the excellent 2012. Easy to drink now too. 93 points Winefront.com.au

  2. O'Leary Walker Watervale Riesling 2013

    O'Leary Walker Watervale Riesling 2013

O’Leary Walker is a key name of Australian riesling, in my books. Pretty much as good as anyone. Absolute purity and precision. Lime juice, lime rind and bath salts. Hits the mark up-front and surges straight on with it. If I was looking to drink a young riesling and I saw this, I wouldn’t hesitate. Pulses through the finish. Can’t ask for much more. 93 points Winefront.com.au

  3. O'Leary Walker Polish Hill River Riesling 2013

O'Leary Walker Polish Hill River Riesling 2013

If you’re a riesling drinker, I’d suggest this release from the famed Polish Hill River sub-region of the Clare Valley is a wine you should be buying/drinking. I like everything about this wine. It’s pure lime and slate and it’s both up-front and reserved at once. It gives but it keeps some for Ron. It’s intense through the finish yet it feels watery and refreshing through the centre. It’s beautiful drinking. For now or later. As a matter of fact … 94 points Winefront.com.au

  1. Mesh Eden Valley Riesling 2013

    Mesh Eden Valley Riesling 2013
    $26.99

Limes, lemon and orange rind. Slatey and coiled but the acidity isn’t at all harsh. Rather it has great depth. A hint of fennel bulb with a tingling bath salt epilogue. There is a quiet yet unnerving persistence and drive which should see it age well. 93+ points Wine Will Eat Itself

As much about texture as it is about flavour; though it lacks none of the latter. Apple, mandarin and lime notes with a slip of sweetness; it feels easy-going and delicious for the most part but then thrusts dry, complex flavour out through the finish, like a twist in the tale. All the while, it feels velvety on your tongue.

Flowery apple and lemon blossom aromas lead into a fresh, crisp palate still to break into song, which it will do down the track a year or two. 92 points James Halliday

The continental climate is the key to Great Southern wines, with cold nights and warm, although not often hot, days. Pale straw-green; tightly wound and zesty, with a pure play of lime and unsweetened lemon juice girdled by crisp, crunchy acidity. Bred in the purple for a long life ahead.

Pale, almost clear, with vivid green highlights.  The nose is very fresh and floral with notes of citrus fruit and bath powder. The palate is tightly wound with a long fine acid line and a dry, crunchy finish. Delicate lemon and citrus flavours provide an indication of the future profile of this wine with careful cellaring.

Banana pie (as a young wine), white flowers, creamed honey and lemon/lime. Rich flavour, touch of sweetness, gentle chalkiness with fine minerally acidity and excellent length. Softer, more approachable style.
No problem at all drinking it now, in fact, it’s almost hard not to. Finish has a bit more of the lime and pith you’d expect from a Clare Riesling. Finer bones will emerge with age, I’m pretty sure.
    Absolutely delicious. 93 points Winefront.com.au
