  1. Dandelion Legacy of the Barossa - 30 Year Old Pedro Ximenez

Dandelion Legacy of the Barossa - 30 Year Old Pedro Ximenez

    Regular Price: $23.99

    Special Price: $21.99

    As low as: $20.00

A little bottle of deliciousness. I don't score, but if I did, I'd give this 96/100. Rating: 96 Points; Winsor Dobbin, Wine of the Week, January 2013.
... an extremely luscious brandy snap, cumquat, nut and tea palate. This is seriously old material; 375 ml; Rating: 94 Points; James Halliday
... it's refreshingly vibrant, balanced and without any hint of cloying sweetness. Rating: 96 Points; Tyson Stelzer; Wine Taste

One of the Barossa's greatest gifts is its unique collection of fortified port and sherry style wines. This 30 year old (average age) pedro ximinez is sensational, essentially an amontillado sherry with emerging nutty, caramel, apricot and raisin characters, bergamot and racy acidity remaining. Rating 5 stars Tony Love

    Bests Great Western Riesling 2013

    Regular Price: $26.99

    Special Price: $24.00

    As low as: $23.50

Best’s Riesling customarily has a whisker of sweetness. It’s part of its appeal. It has an excellent quality record too. This is a little less shouty than the 2012 but it’s none the lesser for it. It’s a wine, simply, of balance and length.  Comfortable in its skin. It tastes of lime and melon with floral notes drifting throughout. Chalky, textural finish. Beautiful from every angle.  Campbell Mattinson, WineFront, 3 September 2013

    Castle Rock Riesling 2014

    Regular Price: $23.50

    Special Price: $22.99

    As low as: $21.00

The lime juice characters again dominate and run the length of the palate. The floral notes are just evident and the natural acidity gives focus and drive. The wine is zesty and has an incredibly tight and linear structure, yet has great generosity and succulence, as is the want of great Riesling.
The wine is tight and restrained with an attractive delicacy now, yet will blossom with age for at least fifteen years.

  1. Chaffey Brothers Tesselation Eden Valley Riesling 2014

Chaffey Brothers Tesselation Eden Valley Riesling 2014

    Regular Price: $22.50

    Special Price: $21.00

    As low as: $19.50

Off-dry riesling in Australia is a good idea as a side project but it rarely reaches the quality heights of the dry stuff. This wine issues a challenge to that notion.
It has excellent intensity of pear, apple and lime flavour, with a bath salt/talc-like textural element to the finish.
Sweetness is a player but it’s secondary to the quality and finish of the fruit. 93 points Winefront.com.au

Chalky, crunchy aspect to the finish is the icing on the cake. Intense lime, lemon and bath salt flavours make for a powerful impression. Spray of herbs in the background.

.. The palate is incredibly soft – a combination of free-run juice and delicate handling. Toni Paterson Travelinside; Qantas
... In Ad Hoc Wallflower, riesling from Great Southern works deliciously – with a special Cherubino twist. A wild yeast ferment to the free-run juice adds texture and grip to a mouth-wateringly fine, delicate dry white. 4 Stars. Chris Shanahan. Sydney Morning Herald.
... Quartz-white; apple and lime blossom fills the bouquet, the palate a revelation, opening with a caress of sweet fruit before the underlying acidity provides structure and length. Seriously good riesling.

Precision, purity and persistence are the three P's that define this classy riesling; hand-picked, but we don't know whether it was whole bunch pressed or not, arguably irrelevant detail anyway.
It is flooded with zesty lemon and lime flavours on the long palate, acidity just as it should be.

A very pretty wine in its youth with the effusive aromas of spring blossom underlayed with citrus. That citrus drives all along the palate giving this wine a real zippiness plus there is some additional stonefruit ripeness as well. A dry style of Riesling that has fresh natural acid & finishes long and lingering. A natural companion for food, particularly fish and Asian flavours. Wine Muse
