Bleasdale Adelaide Hills Chardonnay 2015

Regular Price: $21.99

Special Price: $20.50

As low as: $19.99

Rating 94 points - James Halliday's wine tasting note - Clones 76, 95 and Mendoza, wild yeast solids fermentation in French puncheons (25% new), partial mlf and 9 months maturation. Skilled winemaking has left the wine bright and crisp, not in sauvignon blanc territory; it is light-bodied, but white peach and grapefruit varietal flavours hold the floor, not oak or vanilla pod mlf. Will flower over the next 2-3 years.

Castelli Estate Pemberton Chardonnay 2014

Regular Price: $27.99

Special Price: $25.19

Wine Companion tasting note. Rating: 95 points
Drink By: 2024 Price:$32.00 Alcohol: 13.3% James Halliday - Published on 27 Jul 2015
Bright straw-green, vibrant, but a little deeper than most when 11 months old; barrel ferment inputs are immediately obvious, providing aroma/flavour complexity, structure and texture likewise. Struck match, grapefruit zest and toasty oak have come together with unexpected poise, bordering on outright finesse. Quite a journey.

Dandelion Twilight of the Adelaide Hills Chardonnay 2013

Regular Price: $25.99

Special Price: $24.50

As low as: $23.99

Light, greenish gold. A suave, pungent bouquet of dried pear, melon and white peach, with floral and spice notes coming up with air. Lush and creamy in texture, repeating the peach and melon qualities and taking a turn to more exotic passionfruit on the back half. An opulent, open-knit style that is drinking very well right now.

Dexter Chardonnay 2014

Regular Price: $41.00

Special Price: $39.99

As low as: $38.00

Dexter Mornington Peninsula Chardonnay  is bright, pale lemon-gold, green tinged. Still a little shy to sniff, but there are hints of stone fruits. The palate is tightly contained by citrusy, grapefruity acidity, showing stone fruits, fig and its ripe and mouth-filling, held in balance by that refreshing acidity. Although there is 20% new oak, that component is background material along with suggestions of nutty, mealy complexity. This is a complex wine that wants more time; I’d suggest leaving it for another six to twelve months, from when it will repay amply that order of patience.

Giant Steps Lusatia Park Chardonnay 2015

Regular Price: $49.00

Special Price: $47.99

As low as: $46.00

We're all familiar with the produce of the Lusatia Park vineyard (now owned by De Bortoli). It was planted in 1985 and sits at 220 metres in the Hoddles Creek area of the valley. Here we have Lusatia Park Chardonnay at the hands of Giant Steps.

This wine sings. It hooks you straight off. Yes it tastes of white peach, crunchy apple, pear and grapefruit, and there might even be spots of honey and pineapple. But the main impression is the way it draws you straight in and keeps you under its spell long after you've swallowed. It really quite something. Sweet bran and assorted flashes of spice are part and parcel of a sensational offering.
A
s indeed are long lines of cleansing/mouthwatering acidity. 96 points Winefront.com.au

Giant Steps Yarra Valley Chardonnay 2015

Regular Price: $30.99

Special Price: $28.99

As low as: $28.00

This is right in the slot. It’s lean and long, mostly, with grapefruit and citrus rind character drilling through to the flourish of the finish. Fuzzy peach and spiced wood characters are fringe players at most. It’s a highly disciplined chardonnay. It needs a year or two in bottle. Rated : 92 Points Winefront.com.au

Giant Steps Yarra Valley Sexton Chardonnay 2015

Regular Price: $49.00

Special Price: $47.99

As low as: $46.00

The Sexton chardonnay vineyard was planted in 1997. It's at Gruyere in the lower valley. It turns out terrific chardonnay. This is rich, fine, seamless, quartz-like. It's complex in an integrated way; no bells, whistles or alarms but plenty going on regardless. Grapefruit and white peach, spent matches buried into the fruit, a smoky mineralogy.
It turns the power on but is long and gorgeous - and it'll be better again in 12-24 months. 95+ points Winefront.com.au

Giant Steps Yarra Valley Tarraford Chardonnay 2015

Regular Price: $49.00

Special Price: $47.99

As low as: $46.00

The bouquet is arresting in its complexity, with a faint echo of funk, but it is the palate that defines this wine, with its ripples of white peach, grapefruit and creamy cashew, all brought to a driving finish thanks to its natural acidity.
Rolls-Royce power, Yarra Valley length. 13.5% alc, screwcap. 97 points; drink to 2024; $45 James Halliday
The seamless one. It is quite monumentally gorgeous. It just gets everything right, and adds a few flourishes for good measure. It tastes of ginger and custard apples, (subtle) struck match and a complex arrange of stone fruits. It's one of those wines, though, where it feels churlish to pinpoint the flavours;
it's elegant, seductive and long, and there's very little more you can request.

96 points - "Rich, flavoursome chardonnay with ripe peach, nectarine and honey flavours, plus perfect hints of hazelnut and spicy oak. The wine is opulent, yet powerful and long.
