.... it jumped out as irresistible. Not difficult to see why.  If you like the mainstay of Australian grenache, you will like this Spanish version. Sweet fruit, minerally tannin, dry finish. Gunsmoke. Obviously accessible but the fruit has character and class. Black and red licorice. Beautiful freshness. Energetic wine from go to whoa. You just want to drink it. Under $15? Excellent buying.  89 Points Screwcap Drink : 2013 – 2015 . Campbell Mattinson.  www.winefront.com.au
..... The big news is that it's even better than Spain's top-selling red wine in this country. It's an authentic and structured grenache which sets a dynamic contrast between blackberry, plum and liquorice fruit, subtle herbal complexity and firm, fine rustic tannins. This is declassified Campo de Borja from north-eastern Spain, not classified, because that would only make it more expensive.  90 points. Adelina Eternal Return Arneis 2015

    Regular Price: $25.00

    Special Price: $23.99

    As low as: $23.00

I’ve met Adelina winemaker, Col McBryde, a couple of times. He’s a nice chap. Quiet. Thoughtful. Has a bit of a perky face too. Applies his considerable intelligence to his craft, or so it seems to me. There are no shit wines at Adelina. Arneis is a hard grape to get right, I think, but this is spot on. The balance is all just so, with the right amount of richness of fruit and silky glossy texture, cut back just right with flinty bits and cool acidity. The flavours are probably something like almonds, green pears, fresh herbs and maybe tangerine, with a touch of warmth. Finish is crunchy, like a crisp green pear and its skin.

fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks to retain freshness & purity. Fresh pear and spice aromas combined with lychees and lemon zest provide plenty of charatcer, further enhanced by nuances of nougat, marzipan and almonds.

This delicate wine shows all the spice and perfume we expect from cool climate Pinot Gris. Nashi, ginger and rosewater perfume leads to a rich and textured palate with nutty complexity from the barrel ferment component, finishing crisp, fresh and balanced

Fiano is a white Italian variety grown primarily in the Campania region in the south and also on the island of Sicily. Known for its low yields, strong flavours and intense aromas, this is a variety to watch in the years to come.

The nose shows delicate orange sherbet, rock melon and sweeter apricot notes with a slight mineral undercurrent shown through fresh river rock pebble aromas. The palate is sensual and textured and leaves a crisp acidic finish in your mouth. Serve with fried whitebait and a roast garlic aioli.

    As low as: $21.00

Planted in the ancient soils of the K1 vineyard, Gruner Veltliner has found a new home in the cool southern Adelaide Hills where it produces exceptional white wines that capture both the old-world essence of Austria and the modern vibrancy and clarity of Australia.

During the 2015 vintage, the Hand Crafted fruit was picked two weeks later than its K1 counterpart and the extra time on the vine allowed further flavour development and lowering of natural acids, which both contributed to the wine's increased weight and structure. In cooler vintages, the difference between when the fruit is picked for the two distinct styles might be as much as three to five weeks.

The nose exhibits aromas of lychee, rock melon and fuji apple, which continue on the palate with additional tropical and mineral notes. Balanced acid adds to the full-bodied and creamy mouthfeel.

This is a belter of a wine at the price. Hard to think of many at $22 that would cruise at this altitude. It’s assets aren’t in the reserved but dulcet perfume, but in the woosh of faintly chalky, juicy yet toned fruit that characterises the palate. It rushes through the mouth with refreshing appley fruit, yet there’s all sorts of detail in spice and nuts gathering through it. Long, tight, sleek yet mouthwatering,
it’s got all the layers of upper crust fancy wines in a fun-loving package. Brilliant. Rated : 93+ Points Winefront.com.au

"I’m putting it out there: this could be the best Pinot Gris in Australia.
It’s rose gold in colour and that’s just the start of the fun. Subtle floral notes, nashi pear, whisper of musk, but the ‘fruitiness’ is dialled back and the ‘vinous’ parts are tuned up. Powdery tannin, and almost savoury to taste, with the cool acidity and pear, along with a peach tea-like refreshment. Perfect from front to back, complex and packed with personality. Hats off. Flat out delicious. This is how you make Pinot Gris."

The best of this line yet, quite possibly, although to overtake the 2010 would be some feat! This is authentic, oriiginal Baroosa Valley Shiraz, made with passion and purity. No excesss oak, no excess alcohol, made naturally and aged in mix of old and new oak barrels ... this wine is what ALL Barossa Shiraz should taste like, and would taste like, if it could. a classic vintage throughout much of Europe and Veneto was no exception. The vineyards began with excellent soil moisture levels and the vines responded well to ideal spring conditions before a very warm, dry summer slowed growth and limited yields. A warm , clear Autumn provided excellent ripening but crucially cool nights ensured the retention of naturally acidity. The wines are surprisingly fresh and aromatic with excellent depth of flavour.

Pale and delicate in colour with subtle citrus and floral aromas. The palate is elegant and delightfully fresh with delicate citrus and tropical flavours building to notes of ripe pear matched by soft mineral acidity before a dry finish.

It’s actually added sauvignon blanc to the front label (and of course to the wine). The style of this wine is to be applauded. It’s just so dry and briny. And textural. It impresses by understatement as much as anything. Crisp and fresh, sure, with herb and brine flavours the main players. There’s a musky note to the finish, which is well sustained. Great seafood style. 90 points Winefront.com.au

"This estate vineyard, planted '70, was acquired by SC Pannell in '14; matured in French oak (20% new). Wow. This isn't the trendy SC Pannell with aspirations to make light to medium-bodied reds for connoisseurs of fine things, but a throwback to Steve Pannell's days with Hardys (there is an explanation, but no space).

2014 Butchers Block White - Mouth-filling, delicious, interesting wine.

A blend of around half marsanne with viognier the next most blended grape, and a lesser but significant portion of roussanne. An early adopter of white blends, particularly Rhone-ish things. Spends some time in oak too.

Ripper wine this. Smells like quince and lemon butter with some ginger spice thrown in. Light golden colour suggests richness, and it’s there – curvy edges but mouthwatering acidity underlying. Refreshing finish but layers of fruit, nougat and spice found throughout the palate. I imagine this with cold cuts or a terrine and how well it would go.
Mouth-filling, delicious, interesting wine. 92 points Mike Bennie
