A whisp of smoke on opening but clearing quickly to reveal a wine that’s so light and pure, yet of remarkable depth and concentration. Lime, almost a lemon curd flavour and perhaps a suggestion of apple–the flavour is there–almost feels soft when you first taste it, then turns crunchy, spicy and runs very very long. A new addition to the range, which I think replaces the old non-estate, estate wines which will now all be called Parterre. Simple. Wheat, honey almond, melon and grapefruit. It's tight and zesty with lime and grapefruit but has apple and pear richness adding softness (and flavour). It's energetic and long with a high drinkability factor. Delivers 100% at the price. Tagged as the “baby brother” to their flagship Vat 47 chardonnay, the Moon Mountain has soft white peach and melon aromas with some nutty nuances shining through. With a creamy mouthfeel, ripe peach, nectarine and subtle biscuit flavours, this refined chardonnay is all about the fruit, with some added flavour from a mixture of new and seasoned French oak.

Smoky char characters, riper tropical/melon fruits, biscuity tones. Lift of citrus in bouquet too – it doubles back in palate with tangy, steely, linear acid which courses from front to back palate with fine length. Some mellow texture, deep flavour, youthful and mostly unadorned and feels very natural in fruit flavour. Soft, lacy acidity key here. 93 points Winefront.com.au

Fraser Gallop is a winery that’s pretty much gone from 0 to 100 in no time flat. - Struck match, lime and melon, cashew and vanilla cream – region and winemaker working happily together here. Medium weight, but packing plenty of fruit and flavour  93 points Winefront.com.au
