Quick Overview

"It’s a template for how modern Barossa Shiraz can taste. The oak influence is minimal, the fruit robust, spicy, full, warm, but not cooked. There’s a stem influence (25% whole bunches) which gives a peppery lift, a flush of boysenberry juicy fruit and then a clean, not overly acidified finish. It’s such clever wine, and with actual tannins that don’t come from a bag. Every time I came back to this I marvelled at the easy balance, the vibrant fruit, the shape of the tannins. It’s a Barossa Shiraz for people who think there should be more than just oak and fruit in a red wine.

Real good. Best drinking: Now to ten years easy. 18.5/20, 94/100. 14.3%, $35. Would I buy it? I sure would." Australian Wine Review

Product Description

The 2016 vintage in the Barossa was a ripper. We had ideal weather conditions were experienced in the lead up to harvest, with slightly cooler spring and early summer temperatures. Across the Barossa we saw small bunches and low yields and the Shiraz we received had great colour and flavour.

Hand Picked | Wild Yeast | 22% Whole Bunch | Unfined | Unfiltered Fruit source: Stonewell, Eden Valley and Moppa
A distinctly beautiful bright red colour leads this wine’s vibrant white pepper led aromatic.  Accompanying this you’ll find juicy red plum and clove that meld beautifully together.  Flavours of newly ripened red plum, subtle cinnamon and clove along with amazingly fine tannins are delivered onto your pallet making for an elegant presentation of Barossa Shiraz.

Hand picked, wild yeast, 25% whole bunches, unfined, unfiltered. 2850 bottles made. From Stonewell, Moppa and the Eden Valley. A touch of coffee-like flavour but it’s essentially fruit-driven and bold, its heart of blackberry wrapped in chicory and liquorice. Mouth-filling but mannered. Supple tannin draws the strings in a casual manner. Fruit really is to the fore from start to finish. The door isn’t closed; Barossa shiraz is open for viewing, and on clear display.
