Black as midnight with vivid purple hue. A seductive nose of sweet briar, violets, mulberries, smouldering toasty oak drenched with alluring hints of coffee and vanilla bean. .... chewy liquorice tannins and a gentle touch of warming black pepper on the finish. Succulent mulberry and red currant fruit harmonise with velvety chocolate, mocha and sweet vanillin nuances. Underlying smoked bacon, mint and earthy characters add ethereal complexity and create a lingering finish of soft raspberry liquorice tannins.
Learn More... immensely rich fruit, yet doesn't smash it with too much oak or scar it with too much tannin. The texture of this wine is like velvet - an overused phrase - but this time it's true. The flavours wash over your tongue, they caress your palate and linger long after you've swallowed. And those flavours? Sweet mint leaves, lush blackberry, finely focused blackcurrants rubbed with eucalyptus oil, all this in a cocoon of coconut and chocolate cream.
Learn More... There's a consistency across the reds from the flagship Old Adam to the Tamblyn blend, and all show excellent regional character. The current vintage is up with the best of the Selkirks: vibrant, ripe redcurrant and dark plum flavours; well-integrated vanillin oak; fleshy, almost syrupy texture, before a lively, approachable finish. Learn More... Suede texture leads into fine, graphite tannin. Complex, layered and beautiful. Wow. 95+ Excellent – Exceptional Wine Will Eat Itself
It’s nicely concentrated with a driving fruit intensity and finishes with clean acid and persistent spice. It’s still finding its feet but this is only going to get better with time. Winingpom
... long, languid and beautifully detailed from start to finish; excellent viticulture and winemaking in total harmony. 96 Points James Halliday
Well it’s become a bit of a star over the past six or seven years. Tannin tames with time though it still ripples and pulls throughout. Terrific length. Savoury to its back teeth – this is not a wine for fruit sluts – and impeccably well balanced. Indeed balance is arguably its key feature. Tip top I’d reckon.95 points Winefront
