Peter Lehmann Shiraz
$16.99
Deep rich red in colour: the nose is typical of Barossa Shiraz, showing dark plums and chocolate, with attractive sweet cedar notes and a hint of black pepper. The palate has a good depth of dark berry flavours with a touch of savoury fruits and a good tannin structure in harmonious balance to the fruit. Learn More

St Hallett Faith Shiraz 2008
Dark ruby red. Pepper and spice bouquets mixed with ripe berry fruit, underlying smoke from the oak maturation. Dark cherry and sweet raspberry palate is complemented by chocolate and game flavours. Of medium weight, blackberry and pepper persist across the palate and ends with finely textured tannins delivering a pleasant, lingering mouthfeel. Learn More

Hewitson Ned Henrys Shiraz 2011

The palate structure of Ned and Henry's delivers in every aspect of the brief. The fruit flavours are full and concentrated yet soft and supple. The tannins are gentle yet persistent and completely mould into the wine. Ned and Henry's is most definitely full-bodied: chocolate, blackberry and dark-earth characters. Yet the wine has great balance and poise and carries that signature called 'drinkability'. Learn More

Rockbare Shiraz 2010

Black as midnight with vivid purple hue. A seductive nose of sweet briar, violets, mulberries, smouldering toasty oak drenched with alluring hints of coffee and vanilla bean. .... chewy liquorice tannins and a gentle touch of warming black pepper on the finish. Succulent mulberry and red currant fruit harmonise with velvety chocolate, mocha and sweet vanillin nuances. Underlying smoked bacon, mint and earthy characters add ethereal complexity and create a lingering finish of soft raspberry liquorice tannins.

Tim Adams Shiraz 2009

... immensely rich fruit, yet doesn't smash it with too much oak or scar it with too much tannin. The texture of this wine is like velvet - an overused phrase - but this time it's true. The flavours wash over your tongue, they caress your palate and linger long after you've swallowed. And those flavours? Sweet mint leaves, lush blackberry, finely focused blackcurrants rubbed with eucalyptus oil, all this in a cocoon of coconut and chocolate cream.

Heartland Shiraz 2008
$19.99
The 2008 release has a robust honesty about it. No tricks, just dark, rich, warm fruit. Tastes of peppermint, sweet fruit (plums, cherries and raspberries), pipe tobacco, a touch of pepper and a whiff of vanilla. It feels slightly desiccated - if you try hard you'll find flavours of salted beef here - but it still manages to fully satisfy. Excellent winter drinking. Will impress all comers. 91 Points Big Red Wine Book Learn More

Bremerton Selkirk Shiraz

... There's a consistency across the reds from the flagship Old Adam to the Tamblyn blend, and all show excellent regional character. The current vintage is up with the best of the Selkirks: vibrant, ripe redcurrant and dark plum flavours; well-integrated vanillin oak; fleshy, almost syrupy texture, before a lively, approachable finish. Coriole Shiraz 2008
Savoury and ferrous with black fruit and a bit of chocolate. It’s dry and largely savoury but has a juicy blackberry pastille flavour in the mix. Dry, hot year tannins, offer a bit of grip and chew, but it feels good in the mouth – rugged and authentic. Touch of bitterness on the finish but an all round excellent wine. Really enjoyed drinking it. It’s a good example of the more ‘adult’ style of McLaren Vale Shiraz – the kind I like best. Rated : 92 Points Winefront.com.au Learn More

... Suede texture leads into fine, graphite tannin. Complex, layered and beautiful. Wow. 95+ Excellent – Exceptional Wine Will Eat Itself

It’s nicely concentrated with a driving fruit intensity and finishes with clean acid and persistent spice. It’s still finding its feet but this is only going to get better with time. Winingpom

... long, languid and beautifully detailed from start to finish; excellent viticulture and winemaking in total harmony. 96 Points James Halliday

Well it’s become a bit of a star over the past six or seven years. Tannin tames with time though it still ripples and pulls throughout. Terrific length. Savoury to its back teeth – this is not a wine for fruit sluts – and impeccably well balanced. Indeed balance is arguably its key feature. Tip top I’d reckon.95 points Winefront
