A small selection of our vineyard is planted with the famous rosé clone of Nebbiolo, ideally suited to producing this fragrant, rose-scented wine with crisp rich flavours
and a long fresh finish.
The Boat Shed Nebbiolo Rosé is sourced entirely from Longview’s vineyard at Macclesfield, Adelaide Hills. The fruit was hand-picked, then chilled to 10˚C, the free run juice separated and fermented for this light rose style. Bentonite fining and coarse earth filtering ensures a clear, bright finish.
Not only did Nebbiolo make a big splash as a rewd varietal in out Top 100, but it even came up trumps as a Rose wine.
Like any good pink wine the Longview Boatshed contrived to suggest much. Peaches, pear, strawberry, tea and spice all featured in our judge's notes without ever sinking into obviousness. Fresh balanced acidity and restrained finishing sweetness sealed our approval. Top 100 wines
