Gran Sasso Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC (full case buy only)

Regular Price: $13.99

Special Price: $13.50

Blood plum, nuts, licorice and some chocolate on a middle weight palate that delivers plenty of flavour along with attractive chewiness and freshness. The length is particularly impressive and closes with a desirable Italianate bitterness, like chicory or similar. Is it the best release of Gran Sasso to date? I suspect so. I defy you to find a more interesting, savoury wine with modest alcohol and food friendliness at the price. If you do, please let me know. It’s ever so slightly better than a 90 point wine ... Head Wines the Old Vine Grenache 2013

Regular Price: $34.99

Special Price: $33.50

As low as: $32.00

Forget your raspberry beret and be done with the idea of confection. This is red fruited, yes, but even as a young wine it’s earthy, meaty, dusty and latently primal. Fine acidity and silty tannin is intricately knitted through the palate. The aftertaste lingers long on dried herbs and a strong note of pastis. 95 points Wine Will Eat Itself
Bright raspberry, cherry, peanut, herbal perfume and mineral. Medium bodied, clean lines, perfect Grenache succulence, but without the confection. Tannin offers gentle slaty grip and the finish is fresh and long. Masterful. Say no more, say no more! 95 points Winefront.com.au

Heartland Spice Trader 2012

Regular Price: $17.50

Special Price: $15.00

This is a very dark glass of juicy and delicious red. A burst of intense primary fruit greets the palate with blueberries, blackberries and currants. These powerful fruit notes can engulf the uninitiated, but waves of spice can be discovered by seasoned flavor explorers.

Hewitson Baby Bush Mourvedre 2012

No mistaking its appeal. Berried flavour, complexing notes of tobacco leaf and leather, a general savoury/earthy/spiciness and the sweetness of fruit to keep you tipping back for more. Integrated tannin. More or less unresolved on the finish but time will take care of that.

Hewitson Miss Harry 2012

Regular Price: $24.50

Special Price: $21.50

As low as: $18.50

Complex without being try-hard about it. Gorgeous mix of various berried fruits, licorice, grainy tannin, savoury-smoky notes and clovey oak. It's at the upper end of mid-weight but it's mouthfilling. High quality tannin and length. Warm finish but impressive all round.

Hewitson Wines Ned & Henrys Barossa Shiraz 2013

Regular Price: $26.99

Special Price: $25.00

As low as: $21.99

The 2013 vintage provided perfect conditions for Shiraz from the Barossa Valley. This is the first Ned and Henry's since 2001 to be 100% Shiraz.
All from terra rossa soils, millions of years of oxidized iron red soils over limestone, this wine is classically Ned & Henry's and possibly our best since 2006.
This is a red drinker's red at all levels, generous, full bodied, rich red and black fruits, fabulous tannins and will reward both immediate drinking and medium turn cellaring.
