It's medium to full bodied, crunchy fresh and cool, expressive and juicily vibrant with tannin that bobs and weaves, and fans out on the long finish. Almost like a Pinot Noir in some respects, but not. But gee it's good though. Drinking it makes you feel like interesting things are happening, somewhere out there in the world. Bright deep crimson; dark and exotic on the bouquet, with liqueur soaked plums, clove and sage; the palate is warm and inviting, direct and expansive, showing the true class of grenache in McLaren Vale; moreover, the quality of the vintage shines through. Top gold Melbourne Wine Show '11.

Blood plum, spice, a bit of leather, bitter chocolate and an almost musky perfume. Medium bodied with fresh juicy acidity and fine tannin providing shape and control, yet has a supple feel, then pulls firm on the finish. Hazelnuts, blood and earth in the flavour mix. Even flow and charm. Really good to drink. The blend as it should be. On the cusp of 94 points. Winefront.com.au
Learn Moreit fairly glides along though the mouth, finishing long and sweet. Subtle savoury elements and brown spices too. Typical Barossa Grenache. High quality at the price and a very good drink. 92 points Winefront.com.au
Learn MoreA Grenache/Mourvedre/Shiraz blend sourced from old Barossa vineyards; it is light- to medium-bodied, with a juicy mix of sweeter and more savoury fruit flavours, doubtless reflecting the blend, lifted on the finish by fine tannins. Nice wine. 90 points James Halliday
Learn MoreThe nose is expressive and inviting with aromas of strawberries and cream, raspberry and redcurrant fruits with hints of white pepper, spice, thyme, licorice and creamy lees characters. ...again with an attractive white pepper lift poking through the vibrant fruit.. The wine finishes, long, dry and savoury.
.... The cool 2011 season has coaxed out the spicy side of Barossa rosé, lacing it with red pepper, greengage plums and watermelon, finishing almost dry. 92 points Tysont Selzer
Learn MoreHave to say, from what I've tasted, 2012 is certainly a vintage where you can start to believe the hype. Spice, nuts, flowers, blood plum, a little chocolate and liquorice - sweetly fruited, yet it pulls savoury and firm. And boy oh boy, as the hungry cartoon dog says, is this a delicious wine. Pleasantly gritty tannin, gentle slipperiness, balanced acidity and lip smacking pure fruit appeal and hazelnutty flavours bring it home. Let's rate it appropriately highly, I think.
