West Cape Howe Hannah's Hill Frankland Cabernet Merlot

    Regular Price: $22.50

    Special Price: $19.99

Dark rich plum with a youthful violet hue. Lifted notes of cassis, plum and raspberries complemented with spicy oak. Intense berry fruits are accompanied by the powdery tannin and hints of cigar box and dark chocolate from the savoury oak. These rich, ripe characters give a great depth of flavour and linger on the finish.

Mid crimson-purple; an elegant, juicy and harmonious wine, matured in new and used French oak, awash with bright, juicy, redcurrant and blackcurrant fruit supported by fine, silky tannins. Great drinking over the next 4-5 years, sooner if you wish. 93 points James Halliday

    Woodlands Cabernet Franc Merlot 2012

    Regular Price: $24.00

    Special Price: $21.60

    As low as: $20.50

47% Cabernet Franc, 46% Merlot, 4% Malbec, 3% Cabernet Sauvignon and how good are Woodlands wines at the moment? They are absolutely killing it. Raspberry, redcurrant, tobacco, aniseed and violet perfume, kiss of choc-vanilla oak along with some grassy varietal Franc notes.
Medium bodied, fresh and red fruited – positively leaps through the mouth like those gazelles that go in and about clefts – grainy tannin controls and shapes, then there’s tight firm finish that runs pretty damn long.
Mainly though, it’s just so good to drink. Vibrant and delicious.92+ points Winefront.com.au

Bright hue; a tightly scripted exercise in precision, balance and length, its blackcurrant and spice fruit driving the fresh, medium-bodied palate; the varietal mix and sense of place occupy equal parts of the stage. 94 points James Halliday... Medium bodied, firm in the mouth with open weave grainy tannin tactile things they are red and black fruit, tobacco and clear acidity. Love the slick of grainy tannin on the finish that marks it a more serious wine than you're paying for.terrific vintage for this wine. 93 points Winefront.com.au

..... It has the full array of cassis, redcurrant, olive and earth expected of this invariably distinguished wine; just let the tannins relax for a year or two. 95 points James Halliday
Lovely aromatics here – seaweed, violets, sweet rubbed spearmint with chocolate, blackberry and cedar/pencil oak in support. Medium to full bodied, ample red and black fruits, chocolate, nuts and tobacco, spiced oak – seductive style, though not bold or too showy – composed and impeccably balanced. Fine grained tannin draws the finish long. Classic Cabernet. 94 points Winefront.com.au"

  3. Xanadu Next of Kin Cabernet Sauvignon (case buy)

Xanadu Next of Kin Cabernet Sauvignon (case buy)

    Regular Price: $19.00

    Special Price: $15.00

Dark chocolate, bay leaf, mulberry – seems like a bit of Margaret River north and south – oak well in the background. It’s middle weight with fine tannin, not too stern so that it drinks beautifully young, nor too soft so as to be weak and baggy.  Flavoursome and even, rather than deep or profound, but delivers true regional flavour and character at very keen price.  Rated : 91 Points Winefront.com.au
