    Special Price: $22.99

    As low as: $22.00
With its deep, dense purple-red colour and superb blueberry, blackcurrant and violet-scented bouquet, this is a refined, elegant cabernet at a bargain price. It’s quite stylish, with abundant fine-grained tannins that run the length of the palate. It shows unbounded potential. Cellar it!” – 95 Points & Wine of the Week Huon Hooke - Value Outstanding

“From 45yo vines. The good depth to the colour signals a wine with all the deliciously soft and fleshy mid-palate fruit Langhorne Creek can provide, yet leaving it with fine, savoury tannins to highlight its varietal character.” – 94 Points & Special Value Wine James Halliday

    Regular Price: $34.99

    Special Price: $33.50

    As low as: $32.00

Review : "If anything this 2014 Leconfield Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon is the exact opposite of green – it’s teetering on too ripe. Sexy ripe though. Very dark red in colour, it’s concentrated and thick from the outset, with a very lush coffeed blackberry richness with a dash of eucalypt. Ahoy Coonawarra! Polished and silky, the style is silky smooth, fleshy and lavish, every bit the ripe and berry fleshed wine you expect it to be, complete with bitter tannins and warming alcohol.

My only quibble that it's a bit too warm and there’s no subtlety. Still, for weight, juiciness and silky length this is very easy to like. I may even be scoring it too lowly. Best drinking: 2018-2030. 18.1/20, 93/100.14.5%, $40." Ozwinereview

Full deep red. Rich ripe cassis and blackberry fruit nose integrated with cedar, nutmeg and cinnamon nuances through maturation in predominantly French oak. The wine proudly shows its Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon pedigree. The palate displays an excellent depth and persistence of rich dark mulberry fruit with ripe, long tannins. It is full flavoured yet retains elegance and finesse.

.....But now, over lunch, it really impresses. A slow burner. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, it spent 21 months in 40% new wood. What’s noticeable is the even ripeness "in this 2012 vintage – no leather and gumleaf! It’s so much more generous than previous years, with plenty of purple in there. Maybe a little syrupy through the middle (a common characteristic in ’12 Margs Cab), but tightens up nicely with grainy oak and then grippy tannins. A new world order for Leeuwin Cabernet, it’s long and quite modern, the length befitting the label. What a step up! Best drinking: 2020-2035. 18/20, 93/100. 13.5%, $68. Would I buy it? I enjoyed my few glasses. I’d be happy to have some in the cellar." Andrew Graham Australian Wine Review

"It's just a gorgeous wine. A beauty."  Campbell Mattinson.

"– it is one of the most intense and evocative encapsulations of the essence of Coonawarra I have ever experienced." &n Matthew Jukes Top 100 Australian WineBalance is the key with this latest release of Majella Cabernet Sauvignon. It has things just right. Black fruit, dusty tannin, creamy oak, mint and olive-like notes. It’s dark and sensuous, feels smooth on the tongue, but it also presents a fresh face to the world. Tannin is folded in, seamlessly. Everything here is in a good place.

Likely I won’t make any new friends by saying it, but most Australian red wine under $15 is kind of gross. Well, maybe not gross, but often they try too hard: too much cheap oak, sweetness, acid adjustment, high alcohol etc. etc. all at the expense of basic drinkability.
Blueberry and mixed berries, wild herbs and nuts with a little chocolate. Medium bodied, light tannin with some grainy grip , balanced acidity and a nutty faintly perfumed herbal finish. Great mid-week drinking. Balance and value.
Can’t recommend it highly enough. 90 points Gary Walsh Winefront.com.au

Deep red with scarlet highlights, cassis fruit with hints of mint make this wine a definitive Cabernet Sauvignon. Hints of vanilla, cinnamon and mocha from oak maturation have augmented the fruit and contribute complexity. The palate, with excellent blackberry fruit flavours within a medium bodied structure, has a beautiful persistence and long, soft tannins.

"Single vineyard cabernet sauvignon from Great Southern.
How long do you have? This will outlive most of us I suspect. It’s firm, tannic, rich and controlled. It’s an A-class wine with a long term future. Graphite, blackcurrant, cocoa, bay and teams of dry-but-inconspicuous leaf matter. Long. Dry and structural. Balanced. An unstoppable cellarability, given appropriate storage." Rated : 95+ Points Winefront.com.au

"It’s a brooding style of red and in a cabernet blend, that’s almost always a good thing. Not everything is yet revealed; it’s building up to it. Blackberry, graphite, dark chocolate and smoky cedarwood. There’s a reach of tannin and some leafy, almost mint-like lift. It all feels fine and impeccably well managed. A Claret style, done to perfection, with a bit of extra polish to boot. Really good wine." Rated : 93+ Points Winefront.com.au
