Amazing that wines of this quality can be available for under twenty dollars. Mulberry, cherry, chocolate and vanilla with a gentle perfume of bay leaf. Ripe and fleshy with milk chocolate coated berries, round grainy tannin and lovely balance throughout. I don’t know what they’re doing at Kirrihill – but they’re not making a $20 wine. - OK, so it needs some time. The acid needs to settle, the tannin needs to relax, it all just needs to knit together some more. But the purity of fruit – blackcurrant, dust, brambly blackberries – and the firm seriousness of the finish mark it clearly as something other than a mere quaffer. Mixed berries, chocolate, tobacco, cedar and really only a minor level of mintiness. Smells great, tastes better. Classic Cabernet styling with fulsome palate saturating ripe tannin and vibrant fruit — none of your raisin flavours to get a flattering texture here — the acidity is well positioned within the wine and there’s a superb finish carried by fresh fruit and long tannin. Medium to full red with youthful crimson hues Complex choc-mint nose with integrated subtle oak, the Cabernet Sauvignon imparts a backbone of cassis overlayed with plum fruits from Merlot. A fine round palate showing fruit sweetness and medium bodied in structure, it has fine, silky tannins showing elegance and restraint.

Intense Satsuma Plum fruit up front with hints of tobacco leaf, dry tea and anise on the nose that provide layers of complexity. The palate is fruit rich whilst tightly framed by sandy mouth coating tanins that give the wine great texture, length and persistence of flavour.

Notes of ripe black fruit and cedar, the nose is racy and has a classic Cabernet character without showing any green edges. The palate structure is very assertive whilst still being rich and long. This wine finishes with classic fine grained firm tannins which run right through the structure and will enable long term aging potential.
