Quick Overview

Pure, ripe, berried fruit made prettier by floral and Asian spice aspects. This is a joy to smell, to drink, to admire.
The price too is more than reasonable. A 'What are you waiting for?' wine. 93 points James Halliday

Blood plum and red fruits, honey, spice and leather, with sweet dried herbs. Medium bodied, juicy, glossy and smooth, but beautifully controlled, light fine grained tannin, and a herb infused finish of excellent length.
So much more character than Barossa Shiraz. So great to drink.
Rated : 94 Points Gary Walsh Winefront.com.au

Product Description

Sourced from the Marschall vineyard, a eighty year old organic and dry-grown vineyard, planted on its own rootstocks to clones unknown, in the Vine Vale district. The loose sandy soils reflect sunlight in a similar way to the Rhone’s pebbled vineyards and are well suited to Mataro.

The nose is sweetly fruited and savoury with dark berry fruit, blueberry, kirsch and mince pie spice. The first taste brings a wall of mouth-filling flavour, all licorice and dark fruit, with a touch of orange peel. The wine is all about unforced fruit intensity and a balance between glossy fruit, stalky whole bunch complexity and bright acid.

It’s a single vineyard wine from 80 year old vines for $27 bucks, and that’s a great story!”, exclaims glistening wavy black bristle haired wine-marketer-cum-wine-maker Nicholas Crampton.
