  1. Coriole Shiraz 2008

    Coriole Shiraz 2008
Savoury and ferrous with black fruit and a bit of chocolate. It’s dry and largely savoury but has a juicy blackberry pastille flavour in the mix. Dry, hot year tannins, offer a bit of grip and chew, but it feels good in the mouth – rugged and authentic. Touch of bitterness on the finish but an all round excellent wine. Really enjoyed drinking it. It’s a good example of the more ‘adult’ style of McLaren Vale Shiraz – the kind I like best. Rated : 92 Points Winefront.com.au Learn More

... raspberries, creme de cacao and star anise yield to a fragrant core of slow roasted meats, scorched earth and olive tapenade. Full bodied and tightly structured the palate shows phenomenal ripeness and brooding richness along with a razor-like spine of beautifully integrated acidity and mountain like tannin that will greatly reward those with the patience to cellar it. This wine reflects the up & coming Shiraz vineyards of the Barossa, rather than the battle hardened old vines which make up the core of our other cuvees.

Dense, rich and opulent, this wine combines great fruit purity with texture, complexity and finesse. Whilst offering immense pleasure in its youth the 2011 Woodcutter's Shiraz will no doubt develop beautifully. Learn More

Bright, clear red-purple the scented and fragrant bouquet has a warm spice and pepper introduction to the fleshy red and black cherry fruit of the perfectly balanced medium-bodied palate; the quality of the wine comes through on the lingering finish and aftertaste. Drink whenever. 94 points James Halliday
Cracked pepper, cherry-plum, some mulberry and blackberry and earth. Maybe there’s a kiss of malty, toasty oak but it’s subtle and integrated. Good amount of both fruit flesh and tannin. It’s just a beaut drinking wine. 91 points Winefront.com.au

Rich and full bodied the Cutlass balances thick cuts of juicy dark plum with subtle slices of spice and toast along the length of the blade to a fine grained finish of elegance and great persistence.
Full red-purple; a medium- to full-bodied wine with an extravagant display of flavours and an expressive bouquet; plum, spice, black cherry and quality oak all populate the palate, the finish long and assured. 93 points James Halliday
