Deep rich red in colour: the nose is typical of Barossa Shiraz, showing dark plums and chocolate, with attractive sweet cedar notes and a hint of black pepper. The Majella Shiraz first appeared in 1991 and has since acquired a reputation as one of Coonawarra's finest Shiraz's.

Dark red in colour with purple hues, the wine is redolent of cinnamon spice with overlays of cedary mocha oak.  The palate  shows great length, full of plums, cherries, blackberries and vanilla – creamy and sweet! The tannins are quite soft and complement the long, lingering finish. We present it as a great example of Coonawarra Shiraz at its very best.

The palate is full bodied but refined with some expressive berry fruit, plums, liquorice and complex spicy oak. There is a great depth of fruit which will ensure the longevity of the wine and also gives it wonderful mouthfilling sensation. The tannins are velvety and combined with the rich fruit and spicy oak gives the wine great length of flavour.

"It shows superb aromas of a complex mix of violets, chocolate and cigar box lift. The 60% Langhorne Creek Shiraz in this year's wine, adds palate richness and chocolate/mocha characters on the nose. The palate is an explosion of flavour. Lashings of cassis, briary fruit flavours and spiced plum followed by back palate flavours of spice, liquorice and white pepper. Fine grained, soft tannins and perfect balance followed by a very long lingering finish with hints of blackberry and plum.
