Quick Overview

Strong colour; exceptional mouthfeel ex tannins; much more savoury, but not at the expense of dark black fruits, anise; from three old-vine vineyards in Eden and Barossa Valleys; very good tannins. Matured 12 months in French hogsheads (50% new), blended and matured for a further six months in older French oak. 14.5% alc; screwcap. 96 points; drink to 2039; $50 James Halliday
It’s swish. It’s soft. It’s plush and generous, without ever seeming overdone, or even close to it. It’s alive with black and blue berried fruit, jubey anise then keeping the sweet flow of flavour coming. Lift? There’s plenty. Floral. You can stamp this with the words “fundamentally delicious”. It’s a cracker. It has the tannin structure to match; it leaves no stone unturned."

Product Description

We cherish Barossa Old-Vine Shiraz for complexity and nuance, reflection of growing site, and depth of flavour. We blended these three parcels as an Evangelist for the ancient vines which inhabit this wonderful and wildly diverse growing region.

Opaque crimson-red with purple hues Aroma: Perfumed nose, rich notes of blood plums and blackcurrant. An underlying scent of violet flowers and a hint of mocha. Palate: olished style of Barossa Shiraz, well structured and complex palate; tiers of primary fruit, tight- grained French oak, savoury spice and rich mocha are all perfectly held together with tight-knit tannins and a lengthy finish.
