Quick Overview

Gary Walsh The Wine Front 92 points
"Very crunchy and bright in acidity, with a distinct pink grapefruit tang, along with redcurrant and cranberry, fine dusty texture, sour edges, yes, but a general prettiness too. Racy, a little smoky, and could be used in place of white wine, any day of the week."

Product Description

Gerhard & Brigitte Pittnauer tell us their home village of Gols was known as Villa Gallus – “Roosterville” – back in Roman times. The new label for this wine duly sports a cockerel. The juice is from Blaufränkisch grapes pressed as whole bunches in the early morning. Pronounced and fragrant nose. Very fresh and smooth on the palate, with intense red berries – cherry and cranberry – rich in flavour while retaining its usual delicacy of fruit and flow. - Ed Merrison, CellarHand
