Quick Overview

2015 AAA - Gary Walsh, The Wine Front It’s a throaty expression of Shiraz Grenache, ....it delivers 100% flavour. Blackberry and raspberry, some liquorice and chocolate, leather and gamey aromas. It’s full bodied, saturated with flavour and fine grained tannins, feels aglow with alcohol, but holds it together and finishes long and savoury. Hearty wine.

A 65/35% blend, matured in French barriques. Complex, rich and layered, black and red fruits provide the mosaic of flavours. The tannin and oak management can’t be faulted.
A lovely wine at a bargain basement price.14% alc, screwcap 96 points, drink to 2030, $25 96 points James Halliday

Product Description

It is a vibrant blend of approximately 62% Shiraz and 38% Grenache from some special little pockets amongst our vineyards. The Shiraz was selected from the ‘Gateway' and ‘Jones Block’ vineyards, renowned for producing some of the best fruit in the region. These select parcels were blended with complimentary Grenache to create a wine that is engaging to a wide range of drinkers. Our blend is fun, appealing and, unlike some members of Paxton, not over the top.

2015 AAA - Gary Walsh, The Wine Front Review, Sep 2016It’s a throaty expression of Shiraz Grenache, and while it feels a bit warmer than its stated 14% alcohol, there’s no doubt it delivers 100% flavour. It’s full bodied, saturated with flavour and fine grained tannins, feels aglow with alcohol, but holds it together and finishes long and savoury. Hearty wine.
