What more can we say about the Majella Cabernet? Universally regarded as one of Coonawarra's greatest wines, it continues to win trophies and medals throughout Australia and the world.

Dark red in colour, with a very complex nose with hints of blackberries and ripe cherries. This complexity carries over to the palate, rich, juicy and ribena-like, with plums and fruitcake characters showing through.As ever the finish is long and lingering with wonderful 'soft grain' tannins ... Drink now or wait 12 - 15 years.

The 2010 Vintage saw perfect ripening conditions with warm days and cool nights and this is evidenced by the intense fruit characteristics of this wine.
It’s deep, magenta in colour with a very vibrant freshness. Cherries, choc mint and blackberries show up on the nose with hints of eucalyptus and “vanillin” oak. The palate is rich with ripe dark-fruits and well weighted, grainy tannins. As ever the finish is long and lingering, and it is certainly a wine that will stand the test of time.

Majella cabernet is one of Australia’s most consistent good performers. The 2010 vintage was a good one for Coonawarra reds and it shows in both the 2010 Majella shiraz and also in this cabernet. It’s pretty much pitch perfect for a Coonawarra red. Medium-weight but strong and robust. Blackcurrant all the way, with (overt) eucalypt and bay leaf and integrated smoky oak.
