Whole bunch pressed juice was barrel fermented in new and one year old Seguin Moreau Chagny barriques using both wild ferments and AWRI 1375 yeast. Lees contact for eleven months preceded bottling in February 2009. 30 barriques were produced.
Glowing yellow green; a complex bouquet the result of barel fermentation of cloudy juice in 1 and 2 year old barriques, in typical Balnaves fashion, the palate is smooth, supple and long, with Burgundian nuances.
Absolutely stunning cool climate Chardonnay, with great balance, length, intensity and style. This is class all the way, melon peach, hints brioche and touches of cream, but all behind the fruit and all perfectly judged. Stylish wine!
