A complex and refined Mediterranean style with subtle, discreet aromatics. Musk, raspberry, pink rose petals, just ripened strawberries, quince, and a hint of spice with a slight savoury undertone. The palate is bone dry with flavours ranging through cherry, red currents, savouriness and a refreshing dryness from acidity and fine tannins.
Learn MoreWe were so loud and unruly by the end of the second course that it was hard to hear the call to arms over at the grill. We finally made our way joyfully to the chef to gather our juicy chorizo and an astounding salad of flame-roasted red peppers, beetroot, rocket and shaved manchego. The wine was the BK 2011 Syrah Nouveau, a bright, rustic, medium-bodied vin de pays-style wine. On the nose the wine was pungent and lively; on the palate it was ripe berries and cinnamon sticks. If we opened one bottle we must have hazily opened six.
Learn MoreLight red with pink and purple hues. Fresh strawberries and rose blossom mingle deliciously on the nose with hints of toffee apple. Juicy summer berries tantalise the taste buds with the raspberry lolly sweetness balanced nicely with zingy and zesty acidity which transforms into a crisp Granny Smith apple finish.
Learn MoreThe nose is expressive and inviting with aromas of strawberries and cream, raspberry and redcurrant fruits with hints of white pepper, spice, thyme, licorice and creamy lees characters. ...again with an attractive white pepper lift poking through the vibrant fruit.. The wine finishes, long, dry and savoury.
.... The cool 2011 season has coaxed out the spicy side of Barossa rosé, lacing it with red pepper, greengage plums and watermelon, finishing almost dry. 92 points Tysont Selzer
Learn MoreWell, if a rosé is made by such Burgundy royalty as DRC’s Aubert de Villaine and Dujac’s Jacques Seysses; a bloke sort of has to try it, hey? this is based on old vines Cinsault, a variety not known for its power and complexities, to add fragrance and zip to their reds. In this, the variety’s characteristic rosés, seem to appear not only in the aromatics, but also in a radiant rose pink colour. This is so textured, long and fresh and it plays out with a tingling backbone and a nice drying, savoury note at the end. This is worth finding. Don’t know if I’ve seen a better rosé...
