..Intriguing. Blood and blood plum, rose oil, hazelnut, bitter herb and chocolate. It’s dry and chewy with a fair whack of chalky tannin but has the fruit and density to pull it off with style. Good to drink, interesting to taste…and ripping value to boot. Love it. Drink : 2010 - 2014 90 points Learn More

  3. Head Wines the Blonde Shiraz 2010 (375 mL)

Head Wines the Blonde Shiraz 2010 (375 mL)
...Fragrantly scented, tightly structured and finely poised - this wine shows the more reserved, feminine face of the Barossa. Delicately portioned and beautifully balanced its fragrant notes of flowers, creme de cassis and blackberry are supported by an underlying swell of black pepper, cocoa and minerals. Supple, smooth, intense, balanced and very very long and without any hint of over ripeness, its ease of drinking and current enjoyment should not limit what is a very good cellaring future. Really classy and individual wine, such as should be made more often in the Barossa Valley. A beauty. Gavin Trott. Learn More

  2. Battle of Bosworth Preservative Free Shiraz 2010

Battle of Bosworth Preservative Free Shiraz 2010
If you’re going to do this sort of thing, then do it well. And this is done to perfection.

Smells and tastes of purple. Vigorous, juicy crushed berries, violets, licorice and meat. It’s medium to full bodied and bursting with fruit and spice. Has freshness and purpose, proper tannins, and for a wine that’s barely out of nappies, has a degree of complexity and vinosity that’s quite something. Length too. True Joven style. Hard to rate, but very easy to drink.

  3. Flametree Frankland River Shiraz 2009

    Flametree Frankland River Shiraz 2009
This years shiraz shows fruit flavours in the plum, cherry, liquorice and spice spectrum. The 2009 Flametree Shiraz is riper than last years 2008 version. This wine is wonderfully fragrant with a bouquet of plum, cherry and spicy blueberry. A generous, fruit driven palate of berries and liquorice follows soft velvety tannins.

... It’s a slinky devil all coated in warm choc-licorice and ripe blackberry, seasoned back to into shape with the dried herb and earthiness of Mataro Magic. Medium to full in weight with fine silky silty tannin and an effortless flow of sweet and savoury black fruit filling all corners, hopefully for all comers. Finishes you off with a long, husky voiced chewy musky finish. And all this satisfaction delivered for under $20? Rated : 94 Points Winefront.com.au Learn More

  2. Glaetzer Wallace Shiraz Grenache 2009

    Glaetzer Wallace Shiraz Grenache 2009
The grenache fruit was powerful and robust in 2009, allowing it to play a strong role in the final blend. The percentage of Grenache has dropped to 20% for this release to allow for this intensity.
Wallace combines the best of the two varieties to create a spicy, savoury, food friendly wine. Learn More

This is the result of a barrel cull from the Blonde and Brunette single vineyard sites. The highly aromatic bouquet opens the curtains for a virtuoso display of juicu red and cheery/berry fruits, the finish exceptionally long thanks in part to the quality of the oak and the tannins 94 points James Halliday Learn More
