This wine originates from David Forrest’s vineyard high up in the Eden Valley around 400 metres above sea level, one of the highest points in the Barossa region. It’s pretty tough country up there and the lean bony soils keep the yields low and the berries small….hallmarks of flavour intensity. Plenty of work managing the canopy ensures we get it nice and ripe.
I love this wine…packed with dark and black fruit flavours, elegant but a wine that has real energy about it…and while the flavours on the palate are rich & inviting, there is a savoury leanness to the wine’s structure that makes it such a good drink. – Winemaker Kym Teusner
Teusner’s The Gentleman Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the better value wines on the market at the moment. It’s grown at altitude in the Eden Valley.
