“This GST is a bit like a blend of all the previous GST vintages; with the richness and fruit of the 2014, the perfume and elegance of the 2015, and the tannins that are the hallmark of 2016.”

The nose shows concentrated red fruit characters, strawberry, red liquorice, cherry primary fruit aromas mixed with fennel seed and black liquorice notes from Shiraz, completed by spicy, cinnamon, allspice notes, creates vibrant concentrated primary fruit aromatics with subtle spice and savoury notes adding to complexity. The wine is full and broad on the palate with juicy red fruit character up front, and the finish is firm due to fine-grained, dusty tannins which add length and complexity from the spicy/savoury notes of Shiraz and Touriga. There's great balance between primary fruit notes and savoury/spice complexity, and the intensity of pure, fresh fruit is particularly impressive.
