The Wilyabrup sub-region of Margaret River is predominantly sourced for its consistency in producing rich fruit flavours and a small percentage is sourced from the Wallcliffe sub- region of Margaret River located further south providing subtle and elegant aromatics and fine tannins. Due to another classic and outstanding growing season this wine displays a fragrant nose of red and black currant fruit with raspberries , violets and hints of cedar and mint. The palate displays persistent berry flavours with fine tannin supporting a long elegant palate.
“Blackcurrant, cherry, plenty of mocha and a seasoning of bay leaf, mint and seaweed – that regional perfume, anyway. Full bodied, smooth and plush, plump fine grained tannin, slight burr of warmth, and a long finish closing with a slick of fine dark chocolate tannin and flavour. Excellent.’ – 93 Points Gary Walsh
“The blend percentages are not specified, but the wine spent 12 months in French oak. The cabernet is certainly dominant, with potent cassis and redcurrant fruit; the tannin structure is gently savoury, exactly as it should be, the palate long and well balanced.” – 94 Points James Halliday
