Quick Overview

"In the scheme of Australian nebbiolo, currently, this is sensational value. More kudos to the whip smart winemaking nous of braniacs Colin McBryde and Jennie Gardner, and of course, the wonderful grapes grown on the Gardner estate (though this isn’t grown there).

This has charisma. Old rose petals, sweet pot pourri, pepper, Chinese five spice, dark cherries. Great bouquet, evocative and enticing. Palate is juicy, deep in flavour, richer than expected but tied down on peeling waves of building, puckering, suede tannins. Has a sexy brushed velvet feel to it across it’s huge length. Antipasto watch out. Sensational drinking." Rated : 93 Points Winefront.com.au

Product Description

Simply put, The Eternal Return is declassified Adelina Nebbiolo. All the fruit hails from the Bowe Lees vineyard, at Woodside in the Adelaide Hills. This vineyard, also the source of Adelina's Arneis, lies on sandy brown & grey loams at 390 metres above sea level and was planted between 1998 and 2002. More recently, the vineyard has started moving towards biodynamic practice. Col fills in the winemaking specs, thus: fruit was handpicked, destemmed and fermented with indigenous yeast. Maceration for days on skins. Post pressing, the wine was racked to barrel for 18 months for malo (indigenous) and maturation. Well-grown Nebbiolo fruit ain't cheap so this qualifies as a flat-out bargain.
