"One of those wines where you’re not sure if you should put in the full stops, as per the label, or without, as per the website. Anyway, this is named for D’Anna, Middleton and Lewis. Two big names right there. It’s very pretty and refined. All fresh raspberry and red cherry, floral perfume and a dusting of spice, kind of juicy, but nicely composed, expanding and filling the mouth with flavour and gentle emery tannin, fresh and long through the finish. Wholesome feeling, classic styling, and just lovely to drink. ". Drink : 2020 - 2027+ Learn More

"Made from vines planted in 1968. I think whole bunches are used. Black cherry, pepper and bacon bits, dried herbs and flowers, and vanilla. It’s spicy, nutty and meaty, black fruit and tar, but quite lively and firm too. Savoury over fruit sweet, though it does have a fair volume of blood plum and black fruit. Finish is spicy and wheaty, some sour cherry. Individual style. Nicely done." Rated : 93 Points Winefront.com.au Learn More

  3. Domenica Estate Nebbiolo 2017

    Domenica Estate Nebbiolo 2017
The single acre of nebbiolo is grown in a cool, protected southerly pocket on the corner of shale at the southern end off the property. This soil holds more water than the granite, allowing the typically large canopy to maintain its integrity throughout the summer, usually without supplementary irrigation. Tiny yields of three or four bunches per vine develop the intensity of fruit required to make nebbiolo with beautiful structure, and a deep complex core of ripe fruit. Learn More

."Calm, fluid, gentle cool acidity, fine chalky texture, red fruits and blood orange, slight earthiness, perhaps a few fennel fronds and flowers. Red cherry and almond creaminess pops through on a very long finish. It's as ever, a beautiful wine of harmony and supreme drinking pleasure. Touch and go for 95 points. Regardless, I'll be buying some." 94 points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front Learn More

A wine that takes no prisoners at any stage along the way from the bouquet to the unrelenting power of the back-palate, finish and aftertaste. Citrus of all kinds, and apples, led by Granny Smith, meet the depth of the acidity, and stare it down with ease. Great now, great later. 96 points James Halliday Top 100 Whites Learn More

  3. Domaine Naturaliste Artus Chardonnay 2018

    Domaine Naturaliste Artus Chardonnay 2018
Art for art’s sake. Chardy for God’s sake. Pear, white nectarine, a minor amount of struck match, almond meal, fine ginger and clove spice oak. It’s fresh and bright, some grapefruit zing, but mainly pears studded with spice, tasteful application of savoury toasty oak, slight sizzled butter and nuts, fine powdery texture, cool, long and spicy to close. Excellent release we have here. Rated : 95 Points Winefront.com.au Learn More

This wine has a highly perfumed alluring bouquet. The Gewürztraminer component imparts lychee, musk and rose petals, while the Riesling adds lime and orange blossom, with a hint of pear from the Pinot Gris. This is a light to medium bodied juicy wine, textural and unctuous. The flavours are complex and intense, reflecting the wine’s aromatic characters. A small amount (9g) of residual sugar balances and enhances the finish. Learn More

"Nose in glass, and first impression is that this is a great vintage for HCE Pinot. Darker fruit profile, but with raspberry in there too, plenty of spice and perfume of dried rose, some lead pencil and cedar happening. It’s medium-bodied, savoury and fruit sweet, almost earthy, and packed with gravelly tannin and bright cherry acidity. The finish is long, spicy, dried herb and cherry-laden, beautiful tannin pushing it out. It puts me in mind of 2013 with its grip and deep fruit. It’s bloody outstanding. Learn More

"Interesting to taste after the Upper Yarra Pinot from the same producer. Made pretty much the same way, I believe, yet so different, as you’d expect. I like the Yarra better, in terms of personal preference, but hard to pry apart in terms of objective quality. Beautiful packaging. Red cherry, plum, spice, a little samphire and thyme, a slight smokiness too, and dried roses. It’s fine, but offers more grunt and substance than the more delicate Yarra Valley offering, more grain and grip through the tannin, poached strawberry and ripe pomegranat Learn More

Dark cherry, baking spices, some liquorice, Brazil nuts, floral notes. It’s medium bodied, fleshy and rounded, savoury with ample dark fruit, a slightly earthy character, silty tannin, and some raspberry freshness in with dark nutty chocolate on a furry tannin finish of fine length. Super drinking." Rated : 93 Points Winefront.com.au Learn More

It’s a juicy one this year, offering plenty of peach and pear flavour, a little oatmeal, cashew and cinnamon, but with a pink grapefruit tang. It’s flinty and spicy, a ball of flavour that pulls longer, and tighter on the finish. There’s a little struck match complexity and a whole lot more than a little in terms of enjoyment. It’s very good drinking already." Rated : 93 Points Winefront.com.au   Learn More
