Quick Overview

he NV Brut Blanc de Blancs Cuvée Cuis 1er Cru is terrific. Bright and nervy, as these wines are, the Cuvée Cuis also has a good bit of depth to round out the contours. Lemon peel, almond and dried flowers all add nuance throughout. This is an especially open-knit edition of the Cuvée Cuis, which is just fine, as this wine can be a bit angular upon release. Dosage is 6 grams per liter. Rating: 90 Points; Antonio Galloni; Vinous

Product Description

Since 1750 the Gimonnet family have been vine growers in the village of Cuis, supplying some of the great Champagne houses with fruit. It wasn’t until the 1930's recession when sales of grapes fell that Monsieur Pierre Gimonnet finally decided to take up the challenge of producing Champagne under his own label. It was a great struggle at first, establishing a clientele who were not, at that time, accustomed to "blanc de blancs" Champagnes, not least from a new small independent producer. The effort finally paid off and today the name Pierre Gimonnet et Fils is a highly respected name in Champagne. The estate is now run by Pierre's sons, Michel and Didier, who share the fanaticism of their father for the Gimonnet Champagnes.

"Lively, aerial, not measured, technically perfect... This Cuvee Brut sans annee Cuis 1er Cru represents the archetype style of the Pierre Gimonnet & Fils." - Olivier et Didier Gimonnet
