"Bright salmon-pink; its scented bouquet is outgunned by the tinkling piano keys of the palate, skipping from one variety to the next and then back again. Roses seldom have fruit-derived mouthfeel, but this one does in spades, and is a bargain by any standards." 94 points, James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion 2013
Learn MoreDark fruit bursts onto the palate. The vibrant acid carries the juicy plummy fruit and bitter chocolate seamlessly through the palate and continues to roll on and on balanced by firm, but fine tannins. This wine is from probably our best vintage to date and will need a few months to settle down, but will age over the medium to long term and will drink well for at least the next decade.
Learn MorePlenty of lavender, dried rosemary, hung game-meats, musk and white pepper. The palate is well weighted with plenty of texture and fruit flavour’s of ripe, plum, blackfruit’s, mulberry and cherry. As to be expected there are the rich savoury and spicy aspects that we love from this variety in abundance. Nutmeg, Dutch licorice and a great earthy weight. Ripe, chalky tannins wrap in to a long persistent finish.
Learn More96 Points - James Halliday - Seppeltsfield DP90 Rare Tawny has reigned supreme on the Australian wine show circuit for over 30 years and as the most awarded wine of any style is rightfully regarded as the benchmark Australian Tawny. Fruit from extremely low yielding Barossa Valley vines is given extended maturation in small oak casks at Seppeltsfield in the Barossa Valley before careful blending to create a wine with incomparable levels of finesse, complexity and length.
Learn MoreThe ripe, spicy nose is laced with hints of apricots, Christmas cake and an underlying savoury edge. The palate is full of flavour and displays vivid red fruits supported by racy acidity, ensuring the palate finishes light.
Learn MoreGenerous mouth filling sweet blackberry, raspberry and plums cover the palate with lashings of sweet spice. Firm but fine tannins and dark chocolaty nuances continue throughout the lengthy palate with youthful finish.
Learn MoreFull purple-crimson; if depth and power of flavour are the sole criterion of quality, this shiraz would get 100 points; the flavours, too, are very good indeed, the only point of criticism is the somewhat thick texture. Will cellar very well, and is an outrageously priced bargain. 94 points James Halliday
