Fleshy but opulent. Strident, smoky/cedary oak and all the associated sex appeal. Blue and black berries, graphite and cloves. Fine, grainy tannin.
Big, bold and beautiful. Built to last but can easily be consumed young.  93 points Winefront.com.au

There's a layer of ferruginous clay between them. It smells more dusty than sandy, with maraschino cocktail cherries and bittersweet pickled morello cherries soused together in lemon juice; maybe there's pithy strawberries in the bowl, too. The dark morellos dominate the flavour, which is a neat, tight, linear arrangement with a hint of fresh soft licorice. It's fine of flesh, and its viscosity is just right for those joyous, open-hearted flavours. It's more like an elegant entry-level burgundy from, say, the Seysses family's Domaine Dujac, than any traditional Ocker Grenache. 93++ Points Phillip White

  3. Lake Breeze Bernoota 2012

    Lake Breeze Bernoota 2012

    Regular Price: $23.00

    Special Price: $21.99

    As low as: $20.00

Slightly less new oak than used for previous vintages. If you’ve been known to enjoy a bottle of Lake Breeze’s famed Bernoota red, then you will love this. It’s a classic example of the label. Balanced, bountifully-fruited, slapped with sexy vanillin/coffeed/musky oak but, importantly, beautifully well balanced. Tickled with fine tannin through the finished.
Spot on example of the style.93+ points Winefront

.....Bright crimson-purple; has absorbed the oak while preserving the cassis fruits and softening the tannins; good length and balance. Drink to 2027." 94 points James Halliday, James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2015, 1 August 2014
..... Langhorne fruit exuberance, all blackberried and blueberried, but with grainy, smoky, gum leafy tannin keeping it firm and strict and proper. Full-bodied but not overdone. Sound, fruit-filled length. Oak as a complement but not in an overt and dominant manner. Will keep developing in the cellar over a good number of years. 93+ points Winefront

  2. Woodlands Cabernet Franc Merlot 2012

    Woodlands Cabernet Franc Merlot 2012

47% Cabernet Franc, 46% Merlot, 4% Malbec, 3% Cabernet Sauvignon and how good are Woodlands wines at the moment? They are absolutely killing it. Raspberry, redcurrant, tobacco, aniseed and violet perfume, kiss of choc-vanilla oak along with some grassy varietal Franc notes.
Medium bodied, fresh and red fruited – positively leaps through the mouth like those gazelles that go in and about clefts – grainy tannin controls and shapes, then there’s tight firm finish that runs pretty damn long.
Mainly though, it’s just so good to drink. Vibrant and delicious.92+ points Winefront.com.au

  3. Woodlands Chardonnay 2013

    Woodlands Chardonnay 2013

The colour of our 2013 Chardonnay is vibrant straw. The nose reveals peach, pear, struck match and toasty French oak notes. The palate carries a sweet middle core of stone fruits, quince, cashews and spice, finishing bright and textured from the natural acidity. This wine will be best enjoyed from 2016 to 2019

  1. Tim Smith Wines Barossa Shiraz 2013

Tim Smith Wines Barossa Shiraz 2013

    Special Price: $34.50

    As low as: $34.00
“Always enjoy the wines from Tim Smith, and could you have a more modest name than Tim Smith? Two syllables. It’s pretty much business as usual for Tim Smith Shiraz here, so if you’ve liked the past few vintages, then no surprises here. Blackberry, chocolate, vanilla nougat, spicy biscuits etc. Medium to full bodied, deep flavour, firm grainy tannin and well balanced acidity, then mixed dark berries, vanilla and Barossa coal run through to a long and tannic finish. Textbook. Likely a little more to come over the next few years.”- 93+ points Gary Walsh.

"Matured on fine yeast lees in mostly French oak; sourced from 10 vineyards, the oldest 130 years; part Barossa Valley, part Eden Valley. Made with great skill, this is a seriously good wine, awash with black fruits, licorice and
fine, brambly tannins; the balance and length are perfect, the oak fully integrated" - 96 Points James Halliday

...... black Russian tomatoes steaming on the toast, dribbling beneath a shiny port and cream reduction, black pepper everywhere. This makes surrender a delight. It’s a third the price of a good Bandol, and a tiny fraction of the cost of that air ticket.
Be quick! Sublime in as many ways as I can think, and believe me, my sodden old brain has spread so wide it’s dribbling off the edges of the plate.

The hot and dry 2013 vintage has given us a beautifully classic, cool climate Adelaide Hills wine with lifted fruit flavours of red cherry, currants and dark plum.
