It's medium to full bodied, crunchy fresh and cool, expressive and juicily vibrant with tannin that bobs and weaves, and fans out on the long finish. Almost like a Pinot Noir in some respects, but not. But gee it's good though. Drinking it makes you feel like interesting things are happening, somewhere out there in the world. Learn MoreHints of licorice, dark chocolate, earth, jasmin, five spice and subtle, seasoned oak nuances. Plenty of drive across the palate with a lovely line of bright, energetic acidity that seems to wrap around the ripe, chalky fine-grained tannins and the wine drives through to a finish that is poised perfectly.
Learn MoreThis not just a triumph for the tough 2011 vintage, it’s a wine of beauty, alluring internal harmony and inherent balance. I didn’t expect to like it much at all,
but I found it nothing less than compellingly, gloriously enticing.

Learn MoreA medium bodied wine that’s chewy and red fruited with a side of meat, Brazil nut and mint/licorice. It has dry tannin, a bit of tension and sinew, and good flow through the mouth, dipping slightly on the back palate, before running long and savoury on the finish. There’s a pleasant dried herbal bitterness and something like coffee beans, though they say ‘roast chestnut’ on the back label, and damn them for besting me. Classy. And something of a bargain.”Rated : 93 Points WInefront.com.au

We were so loud and unruly by the end of the second course that it was hard to hear the call to arms over at the grill. We finally made our way joyfully to the chef to gather our juicy chorizo and an astounding salad of flame-roasted red peppers, beetroot, rocket and shaved manchego. The wine was the BK 2011 Syrah Nouveau, a bright, rustic, medium-bodied vin de pays-style wine. On the nose the wine was pungent and lively; on the palate it was ripe berries and cinnamon sticks. If we opened one bottle we must have hazily opened six. Stuart Robinson ~ thevinsomniac.com
Learn More..... Normally I'm a cynical man and a cynical taster, but I kept coming back to this. I couldn't not like it. I couldn't not like the wonderful energy and concentration of the style. I put it down, I picked it back up again. Superb, 'essence of black grapes' juice. 95 points
... finally a hint, like its been dusted with icing sugar. Its young, but its balanced, its already complex with a huge upside, and it has a very fine tannin edged structure. Wow, great stuff, intriguing and sophisticated, serious wine that is seriously under priced! Fine fine sensitive wine making on some superb quality fruit. We loved it, so will you! - The auswine panel
