The palate is long and tasty with a tannic finish that is vitally important to balance the wine richness and make it best suited to drinking with food.
Sarsaparilla, jasmine and lavender, red fruits, crushed black spice and tea leaf with suggestions of turned earth, meat and rocks. Bright but balanced acidity, minimal oak interference and very fine tannin. The architecture is intricate and fascinating. 92 Very Good" Wine Will Eat Itself
"If the idea of running with the bulls in the Spanish village of Pamplona is utterly ridiculous, why not drink this fabulous tempranillo instead? Running with Bulls is a great Aussie Tempranillo and this vintage is the best to date. I love its fragrance and body, starting with liquorice, spice and florals. While it’s quite savoury, it has a core of juicy, fresh fruit. Ripe tannins provide more oomph and good acidity to cut through a rich braise of beef and creamy mash." Jane Faulkner, The Sydney Morning Herald (Aus), 16-17 June 2012
Learn MoreThe stunning Ébano Crianza is made from 100% Tempranillo, known locally as Tinto del Pais, with an average vine age of 20 years. It has a vibrant purple colour with intense fruit notes of ripe cherries, mulberries and raspberries. The wood is well integrated and keeps alive the earlier fruit as well as adding toasty aromas. Ébano 6 is made from 100% Tempranillo and spends 4 months in French oak. Great fruity structure, powerful finish.
Learn MoreCranberry, damask rose, pomegranate, cherry juice and cracked dark husky spices (not quite clove, or black pepper) mingle in a beautifully pure Toro red earthiness. A full and velvet-soft fruit palate, sheeted on quality fruit tannin. Medium volume, with spread and reach, never sweet, not heavy nor lumpy. Effortless and lovely.
Learn MoreUnoaked, and all the better for it, sulphur Free, and all the better for it. Bright summer red drinking of the highest style and quality!!
A super vibrant black/ purple colour in the glass heralds a lively dark forest fruit and black cherry nose, as well as a lushness and hints of liquorice and spice. The wine has a rich, textural and even palate tied together with beautifully structured tannins. This is a medium to full-bodied style of wine.
We should all drink more of these styles of wines, indeed, we should all drink more of THIS wine! - Gavin Trott
This wine is incredibly exciting with a huge range of exotic florals and spices in the bouquet. I see hints of cinnamon or the richer cousin Cassia bark. Initially it has a broody dark berry tone and then lifts with some delicate floral notes like the roses grandpa used to obsessively tend; dark ruby rose. The palate explodes like the fruit of a pomegranate with a nice tang linking in with the gravelly tannins. It's like a locomotive on the palate, it keeps building steam. Great vitality and perfume!

The bouquet is full of mocha oak, sarsaparilla and plums; the palate is fleshy, forward, rich and fresh, showing the McLaren Vale side of this variety's personality; generous, but not to a fault, just a lovely drink. 92 points James Halliday
Learn MoreAll grapes were hand picked; small batch fermented and basket pressed before being blended and matured in old hogsheads. The vibrancy of Graciano is integral to balance the low acidity of Tempranillo and the Mataro adds further depth, structure and savoury qualities. It’s a hedonistic glimpse of McLaren Vale.
