Gran Sasso Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC (full case buy only)

Regular Price: $11.50

Special Price: $10.00

Blood plum, nuts, licorice and some chocolate on a middle weight palate that delivers plenty of flavour along with attractive chewiness and freshness. The length is particularly impressive and closes with a desirable Italianate bitterness, like chicory or similar. Is it the best release of Gran Sasso to date? I suspect so. I defy you to find a more interesting, savoury wine with modest alcohol and food friendliness at the price. If you do, please let me know. It’s ever so slightly better than a 90 point wine ... Elefante La Mancha Tempranillo Shiraz

Regular Price: $13.99

Special Price: $12.99

As low as: $12.50

Price-wise this bats against the standard-issue Koonunga Shiraz; it would be easy to argue that it gives it a fair touch up. Distinctive peanut shell-like aftertaste. Bang on for drinkability. Campbell Mattinson; The Wine Front
Wine of the Week - The economic reality is that many other countries can produce good wines more cheaply than we can in Australia. This is a case in point: a terrific savoury quaffing Spanish red blend that won't break the bank.‘Wine of the Week’ Winsor Dobbin.a good mix between savoury and sweet too, with a .. good deal of Tempranillo to pan out the structure. It’s as generous as a paella pan overflowing with flavour, has a silky red fruit palate and some dried herb character. Ends with keen acids that keep it perky but it’s the smooth tannins that impress making for a seamless drink at the price. Patrick Haddock; Wining Pom

Vigne del Vulture Aglianico Pipoli DOC (full case buy only)

Regular Price: $15.00

Special Price: $14.99

..Intriguing. Blood and blood plum, rose oil, hazelnut, bitter herb and chocolate. It’s dry and chewy with a fair whack of chalky tannin but has the fruit and density to pull it off with style. Good to drink, interesting to taste…and ripping value to boot. Love it. Drink : 2010 - 2014 90 points Learn More

Mandoleto Nero d'Avola 2011 (Case Buy)

Regular Price: $15.00

Special Price: $13.00

the ultimate weekday refreshing red (don’t quote me on that). Red fruit, blood plum, black jellybean with a subtle nut and dried herb flavour. It’s fresh and balanced with fine dry tannin and a good clean finish. Drinks beautifully and has that bit of Nero d’Avola charisma as a point of difference. Rated : 90 Points Winefront.com.au

Another impressive import with bags of bright personality that begs for food. WiningPom
