Excellent vitality and drinkability. Blackberries, cranberries, sap and smoke. Has that ashen, meaty note so characteristic of cool vintages like 2002 and 2011. Has enough sweetness though to keep Barossa shiraz drinkers happy. Enough slurpy, smooth texture. Clovey, peppery, licoricey finish. Compact and complex. Great wine to hook into. Learn MoreA 92/8% blend that spent 17 months in new and used French oak from topflight coopers; the crimson colour leads into a bouquet and palate with blackcurrant and cassis to the fore; the oak adds to both texture and flavour, but it is the lifted fruit on the finish that really puts the stamp of quality on the wine. 94 points James Halliday
Learn Morea dense and powerful old-vine wine from the Biscay clays of Bethany, inky black colour, intense kirsch and dark plum with mint, graphite, bay leaf, herb, dark chocolate and violet notes, full bodied, extractive palate with firm, gravelly tannins and plenty of new French oak (****1/2) GenXYWines
Learn MoreA darker and more savoury example of Grenache from the stable, with leather, black fruits, thyme and black olive; the palate delivers assertive acidity and fine tannins, and the finish is long and expansive. - 94 points James Halliday.
Learn More classic Barossa and superimposes it onto a resolutely medium-bodied palate of finely textured, honed tannins and tangy acidity. Black plums, black cherries and violets carry seamlessly through a lively and crunchy palate, accented with fruit mince spice, dark chocolate and black pepper."

I don’t know what they’re doing at Kirrihill – but they’re not making a $20 wine. - OK, so it needs some time. The acid needs to settle, the tannin needs to relax, it all just needs to knit together some more. But the purity of fruit – blackcurrant, dust, brambly blackberries – and the firm seriousness of the finish mark it clearly as something other than a mere quaffer. A touch of chocolatey oak completes the picture. Good bones here. Rated : 92+ Points Winefront.com.au
Learn MoreDeep straw colour, with a pale green hue. An intense combination of cashew, butter, honeycomb and stone fruit characters. Medium palate weight with a rich and creamy texture. Peach and nectarine fruit flavours are perfectly complimented by toasted nuts, honey and a persistent and flavoursome finish.
