It's medium to full bodied, crunchy fresh and cool, expressive and juicily vibrant with tannin that bobs and weaves, and fans out on the long finish. Almost like a Pinot Noir in some respects, but not. But gee it's good though. Drinking it makes you feel like interesting things are happening, somewhere out there in the world. Rating : 95 Points Drink : 2014 - 2030
Learn MoreBlood plum, spice, a bit of leather, bitter chocolate and an almost musky perfume. Medium bodied with fresh juicy acidity and fine tannin providing shape and control, yet has a supple feel, then pulls firm on the finish. Hazelnuts, blood and earth in the flavour mix. Even flow and charm. Really good to drink. The blend as it should be. On the cusp of 94 points. Winefront.com.au
Learn MoreA Grenache/Mourvedre/Shiraz blend sourced from old Barossa vineyards; it is light- to medium-bodied, with a juicy mix of sweeter and more savoury fruit flavours, doubtless reflecting the blend, lifted on the finish by fine tannins. Nice wine. 90 points James Halliday
Learn MorePlenty of lavender, dried rosemary, hung game-meats, musk and white pepper. The palate is well weighted with plenty of texture and fruit flavour’s of ripe, plum, blackfruit’s, mulberry and cherry. As to be expected there are the rich savoury and spicy aspects that we love from this variety in abundance. Nutmeg, Dutch licorice and a great earthy weight. Ripe, chalky tannins wrap in to a long persistent finish.
Learn MoreA little Szechuan pepper, licorice, black and blue fruits, thyme and mountain herbs. It sports a set of rugged, manly tannin, fresh acidity and plenty of chew and interest. Briary. Authentic. Balanced. You just know drinking it makes you more handsome - boys and girls alike. Roger that Roger. Rated : 94 Points Drink: 2012 - 2022+ Winefront.com.au
Learn More...The southern Rhone may not be my bag, but again I’d be jumping into this. Violets, peanuts, dark cherries, kirsch. Controlled. Tight. Needs some bottle age or a decent decant. Takes the more popular opposition in its class to task. Flavour and interest at a terrific price. Rated : 91 Points Winefront
Learn More... deep, alluring and well-defined black cherry and sweet black plum and blackberry fruits, nuanced with cola, liquorice and high cocoa dark chocolate." 95 points, Tyson Stelzer, Wine Taste Weekly
... I can’t think of too many I’d reach for ahead of this ... This wine feels fine on the tongue but it doesn’t lack fruit. Beautifully well balanced. Complex. And long. Gold medal standard. 94 points Winefront
Pete Schell's 2010 reds exemplify the cutting edge of the modern Barossa style - exotic spice interwoven with polished black fruits of controlled magnitude and captivating textural structure. This skilfully fuses brittle mataro to a fleshy core of shiraz. Rating: 5 out of 5 stars 'Top class' Taste Top 100 wines
