JM 1ST APPROACH

It's medium to full bodied, crunchy fresh and cool, expressive and juicily vibrant with tannin that bobs and weaves, and fans out on the long finish. Almost like a Pinot Noir in some respects, but not. But gee it's good though. Drinking it makes you feel like interesting things are happening, somewhere out there in the world. Blood plum, spice, a bit of leather, bitter chocolate and an almost musky perfume. Medium bodied with fresh juicy acidity and fine tannin providing shape and control, yet has a supple feel, then pulls firm on the finish. Hazelnuts, blood and earth in the flavour mix. A Grenache/Mourvedre/Shiraz blend sourced from old Barossa vineyards; it is light- to medium-bodied, with a juicy mix of sweeter and more savoury fruit flavours, doubtless reflecting the blend, lifted on the finish by fine tannins. Nice wine. 90 points James Halliday

Plenty of lavender, dried rosemary, hung game-meats, musk and white pepper. The palate is well weighted with plenty of texture and fruit flavour’s of ripe, plum, blackfruit’s, mulberry and cherry. As to be expected there are the rich savoury and spicy aspects that we love from this variety in abundance. Nutmeg, Dutch licorice and a great earthy weight. Ripe, chalky tannins wrap in to a long persistent finish.

A little Szechuan pepper, licorice,black and blue fruits, thyme and mountain herbs. It sports a set of rugged, manly tannin, fresh acidity and plenty of chew and interest. Briary. Authentic. ...The southern Rhone may not be my bag, but again I’d be jumping into this. Violets, peanuts, dark cherries, kirsch. Controlled. Tight. Needs some bottle age or a decent decant.
