... This may well be about as good as Barossa GSM gets? ... Serious length. And for all those serious bits, still just so irresistibly yum. You’re having your cake and eating it here. 95 points Winefront.com.au
The architecture is stunning. Cranberry accented acidity and ripe, graphite/mineral tannin. It moves from entry to exit without any interruption and the extension is remarkable .... The Mataro’s Asian spice character lingers as an aftertaste. Terrific now and has the potential to be even more special in the years to come

A powerful, but elegant wine of great sophistication showing flavours of dark berries, cured meats and savoury spice. The full-bodied muscular palate is rich and dense with finely textured tannins and fleshy dark fruit.
A generous finish completes this magnificent wine that will benefit from a decade or more in the cellar.

  3. Yelland & Papps Devote Shiraz Rousanne 2011

Yelland & Papps Devote Shiraz Rousanne 2011
    $33.00

$35; 13.5% alcohol; screw cap; 94+ points Phillip White - THIS wine just stole my tattered heart.
My first taste of a Shiraz Roussanne blend came in the form of d’Arenberg’s The Wild Pixie 2008. This has an even larger Roussanne component of 15% and it’s actually the better wine  ...  Flagrantly floral and outrageously perfumed. Purple fruits, anise, pepper, raspberry and a whole cornucopia of other fragrances. The white grape influence is not only apparent on the nose but also the palate which is silky and slippery with fine, drying tannin. It’s a crazy ride but an enjoyable one just the same. If John Waters made a wine this would be it. 93 Very Good Wine Will Eat Itself

  1. Yelland & Papps Second Take Shiraz 2012

Yelland & Papps Second Take Shiraz 2012
    $38.00

93 points - Philip White - ... . manufacture, then charging an extra fiver for making available the privilege of drinking her raw and unwritten. Get some mates and lovers round for dinner. Dob in and buy one each of these. Then bring three conventional favourites, pour ’em blind, and argue all night.
Deep, bright crimson-purple; the deeply-fruited bouquet leads into an immaculately balanced and structured medium- to full-bodied palate, with plum, black cherry and blackberry to the fore, quality oak and fine-grained tannins bringing up the finish. 95 points James Halliday

  2. Kirrihill Single Vineyard Tullymore Shiraz 2012

Kirrihill Single Vineyard Tullymore Shiraz 2012

    Regular Price: $19.99

    Special Price: $17.99

    As low as: $17.00

Deep purples in the glass lead to a nose reminiscent of black and blue berry fruit, mocha and vanilin oak. The seductive palate is rich and intense with plum, black cassis fruit with hints of chocolate, liquorice and earthy exotic spices. Cedary oak is evident but well integrated and the finish is smooth and persistent. Although drinking well now, this is a wine that will benefit from cellaring for up to ten years.

  3. Mike Press Shiraz 2013 full case buy

Mike Press Shiraz 2013 full case buy

    Regular Price: $14.00

    Special Price: $13.50

..... Indeed the quality of the fruit (and tannin) here is as good as I’ve seen it in Mike Press Shiraz. Cherries, cranberries, plums and a healthy serve of integrated ground spice. Oak, for now, sits slightly separate, though time will help bind it all together. Sinewy tannin gives the wine a sense of strength.
This is an excellent release, and terrific value. I suspect it would have been better again had different oak choices been made; but then, the end price may have been different too. 93 points Campbell Mattinson Winefront.com.au

    Mike Press Merlot

Medium crimson-purple; the plush red berry fruit and oak aromas lead into a multi-layered textural palate, with plum and more savoury fruit set within the subtle French and American oak in which the wine was matured. This is indeed a serious merlot at a laughable price. 92 points James Halliday Top 100 Wines

..... opens up with power and precision in an almost pinot-like sensuality; long precise and destined to go the distance.” – 96 Points Ben Edwards for James Halliday's Wine Companion.

“it’s fresh, boysenberried, cherry-plummed and beautifully well ripened, with a refreshing feel from go to whoa. Some chicory, rubber and cedar-spicy-smoky oak too. And good reach through the finish to boot. In fact it’s polished and well-balanced all round.” – 93 Points Campbell Mattinson

    Battle of Bosworth Shiraz 2012

Dense, deep crimson-purple; organically grown grapes have revelled in the '12 vintage conditions; the unplumbed depths of this full-bodied, black-fruited velvety wine will take decades to open up and reveal all, but the soft, round tannins mean it can be enjoyed at any stage of its development.
Great value. 95 points James Halliday
