The wine displays fresh green tinges on a pale straw colour. The nose exhibits aromas of fresh cut pear and honey dew melon with some zesty citric notes. There are no overt woody or buttery aromas with the primary fruit characters expressed with clarity and definition. The palate is fresh and lively with clean crisp acidity complementing the vibrant fruity flavours. The palate has very good extension and ends clean and bright. This is a restrained style of Australian Chardonnay and highlights how far we have come with this style of wine over the last decade.

Decent, quaffable pinot noir for under $20? It's almost impossible to find but this terrific value import from the south of France manages it ... “the best French Pinot Noir outside of Burgundy” .... It's on the riper side of the pinot spectrum, certainly no shrinking violet, but no brash bogan either. The (French) girl next door with smoothness, dark cherry fruit flavours, hints of earthiness and plenty of length. It can be found on special for as low as $15 but the RRP is $19.  Windsor Dobbin

..... Normally I'm a cynical man and a cynical taster, but I kept coming back to this. I couldn't not like it. I couldn't not like the wonderful energy and concentration of the style. I put it down, I picked it back up again. Superb, 'essence of black grapes' juice. 95 points
... finally a hint, like its been dusted with icing sugar. Its young, but its balanced, its already complex with a huge upside, and it has a very fine tannin edged structure. Wow, great stuff, intriguing and sophisticated, serious wine that is seriously under priced! Fine fine sensitive wine making on some superb quality fruit. .... a wonderful balance of warm toasty flavours on the finish. The structure of this wine shows both the power of a typical multi layered Leeuwin Estate Art Series Chardonnay with an underlying elegance. For mine, among the best young Art Series Chardonnay I have tried, and I have them all back to 1999, and a classic in the making with time in the cellar.
