Blue and black fruit, peppermint and creamy nougat oak. Ripe, but only just nudging full bodied, with a smooth and even palate, good acid balance, fine tannin, and a long sweetly fruited finish. Has some finesse – not clunky – a lively finer style. Sure to cellar very well too. Rated : 93+ Points Winefront.com.au
Learn Morepowerful, impenetrable black depth is densely packed with liquorice, coal, black olives, black jubes, plum pudding and every black fruit you could conjure. It’s a testimony to Pete Schell’s mastery that, in the midst of this maelstrom, it never deviates from its linear focus to become broad or soupy. Rather, impeccably handled tannins and tangy acidity pull the finish in straight and true. 94 points Tyson Tselzer
Learn More"If the idea of running with the bulls in the Spanish village of Pamplona is utterly ridiculous, why not drink this fabulous tempranillo instead? Running with Bulls is a great Aussie Tempranillo and this vintage is the best to date. I love its fragrance and body, starting with liquorice, spice and florals. While it’s quite savoury, it has a core of juicy, fresh fruit. Ripe tannins provide more oomph and good acidity to cut through a rich braise of beef and creamy mash." Jane Faulkner, The Sydney Morning Herald (Aus), 16-17 June 2012
Learn MoreFrom the first look at the colour, dark black red, through the perfumed nose, then the power packed palate, this is clearly going to be a class wine! ... dark fruits, black berries, plums, liquorice, then opening up to add touches of vanilla, a sliver of chocolate, spices and a hint of cream. The palate too is super intense, densely packed fruits, layers of black berry, plum, super ripe raspberries and liquorice, with a really creamy mouthfeel. The finish is very long, with loads of soft and fine tannins.
This is a wine with power, yet structure, intense and tight, with a huge future in front of it. Indeed, it was at its best, and getting better, three hours later. Class all the way! Gavin Trott
Learn MoreMedium depth crimson in colour with purple hues. Delicious aromas of blue fruits, Satsuma plum and liquorice fills the nostrils with hints of Turkish delight and chocolate. Bright, juicy, sweet fruit flows onto the palate and is well balanced with briary spice and plenty of fine silky tannins which continue right through to the finish.
Learn More... a master stroke. Rather than adding floral notes, the Roussanne adds weight and complexity. This wine is very elegant, as the plum and red berry flavours roll down the palate. The wine has a dry finish and considerable length - very appealing (95 points). Alontin Australian Wine
... imagination-stretching complexity and an unwavering sense of poise, energy and internal harmony. Vineyard sources in high country Eden and the Barossa hills maintain a lively acid profile, supporting impeccably textured, gravelly, fine-grained tannins that draw every nuance of detail long into a tightly focused finish. Definitive new age Barossa. 96 points Tyson Tselzer
