Full purple-crimson; if depth and power of flavour are the sole criterion of quality, this shiraz would get 100 points; the flavours, too, are very good indeed, the only point of criticism is the somewhat thick texture. Will cellar very well, and is an outrageously priced bargain. 94 points James Halliday

Swirls boldly in the glass, immensely satisfying and tapers to a click of briny acidity. I'd drink this in youth over age, but plenty left in the tank. Oh boy. Oh yes. Rated : 93 Points Winefront.com.au
... is looooong, with firm but fine tannins stretching out. Slow to open up and with a fantastic structure, this powerful wine needs a little sleep to begin to show the complexities that will develop with time. I think it will become a beauty! Great stuff Gavin Trott
... savoury interplay with oak handled in its stride. Tannins are ripe, fine and disciplined. Ruggedly handsome yet frighteningly suave, this has the whole kit and caboodle going for it. 94 Excellent Wine will eat itself
Learn More.. Wonderfully generous palate is ripe and slippery but not sweet. Not hard to like a juicy, ripe, no-nonsense Vale Shiraz like this. 17.5/91 points Australian Wine Review
... meat, spice and dark fruits on the nose ... and soft silky tannins with a long finish. Polished and fascinating. 93 points James Suckling
...enticing rather than overbearing and it lingers beautifully on the finish. A fine wine for the price .... Winingpom
... Has an earthy goodness about it too. Benefits from a quick slosh in the decanter. Excellent red wine. Rated : 92 Points Winefront
Learn MoreFirst and foremost, it’s a beautiful drink ... Tastes of tar and blackcurrant, dust and dried herbs. Almost a little sappy/spicyperfumed in the mouth. . Quite gorgeous. Rated : 91 Points The Winefront Campbell Mattinson
Composure, sensitivity and balance are the keys here. It’s almost dapper actually ... Very persuasive all up, especially at the price. Excellent Wine Will Eat Itself

THE WINE FRONT - Campbell Mattinson, - This mourvedre from Turkey Flat spent 20 months in French oak puncheons. We have another winning mourvedre here. It's dark berried and earthen, leathery and polished. Spicy, cedary oak makes a delicious contribution and its grainy, assertive, rusty tannin is a highlight. Lovely length. Medium-bodied but almost porty in its ripeness. Beautiful wine to drink even now though it can be cellared with confidence too. Rating: 94 Points
