Majella Coonawarra Shiraz 2010

Regular Price: $36.99

Special Price: $33.99

As low as: $33.00

The Majella Shiraz first appeared in 1991 and has since acquired a reputation as one of Coonawarra's finest Shiraz's.

Dark red in colour with purple hues, the wine is redolent of cinnamon spice with overlays of cedary mocha oak.  The palate  shows great length, full of plums, cherries, blackberries and vanilla – creamy and sweet! The tannins are quite soft and complement the long, lingering finish. We present it as a great example of Coonawarra Shiraz at its very best.

“-to your average red drinker this is manna from heaven.  -it’s right in the Majella groove.”  Campbell Mattinson

Teusner The Riebke Barossa Valley Shiraz 2011

Special Price: $19.00

Hints of licorice, dark chocolate, earth, jasmin, five spice and subtle, seasoned oak nuances. Plenty of drive across the palate with a lovely line of bright, energetic acidity that seems to wrap around the ripe, chalky fine-grained tannins and the wine drives through to a finish that is poised perfectly.

Kalleske Moppa Shiraz 2011

Regular Price: $29.99

Special Price: $27.99

As low as: $26.99

Excellent vitality and drinkability. Blackberries, cranberries, sap and smoke. Has that ashen, meaty note so characteristic of cool vintages like 2002 and 2011. Has enough sweetness though to keep Barossa shiraz drinkers happy. Enough slurpy, smooth texture. Clovey, peppery, licoricey finish. Compact and complex. Great wine to hook into. Bleasdale Sparkling Shiraz NV
$18.99
"Goodness,. A bouquet of cracked pepper and plum pudding slides into a rich, glossy palate that's swimming with black satsuma plum and cracked pepper, amid a sea of very fine tannins. ... this wine is as well constructed as ever, and still represents the best value in sparkling red in the country" 92 points Tyson Stelzer, WBM100 Learn More

Le Chat Noir Shiraz 2011

Regular Price: $16.00

Special Price: $15.50

As low as: $15.00

Though I’ve scored it the same, I suspect I like the style of this better than the previous vintage.  Importer: Fourth Wave Wine Lavender and thyme perfume, spice, blue fruit and boysenberry. Medium bodied with a good uptake of fleshy berry fruit, but
tasty southern French elements taper it off neatly. Tannin well tucked in and a juicy, but dry finish. Spot on. No largesse. Great affordable spicy Shiraz drinking. 91 points

Atlas Wines ‘429’ Clare Valley Shiraz 2010

Regular Price: $35.99

Special Price: $33.00

multiple layers of the full-bodied palate; blackberry, anise, bitter chocolate and cedary oak are among some of the flavours; others will no doubt find more, and I won't complain. The most unexpected feature of an unexpected wine is the freshness and elegance of the finish; this is masterful winemaking. 96 points James Halliday

Heartland Shiraz 2008
$19.99
The 2008 release has a robust honesty about it. No tricks, just dark, rich, warm fruit. Tastes of peppermint, sweet fruit (plums, cherries and raspberries), pipe tobacco, a touch of pepper and a whiff of vanilla. It feels slightly desiccated - if you try hard you'll find flavours of salted beef here - but it still manages to fully satisfy. Excellent winter drinking. Will impress all comers. 91 Points Big Red Wine Book Learn More

Clonakilla Hilltops Shiraz 2011

Regular Price: $27.99

Special Price: $26.99

As low as: $25.00

2011 was a cool vintage producing wines with delicate perfumes and fine tannins. Cherry and spice notes; pepper against a background of fresh red berries. An elegant wine for drinking over five years.

Made from fruit sourced from the Hilltops region around Young...this is a lighter, relatively forward version of an always well priced wine. Its cool pepper/spice aromatics and red berry fruits mean this delicious, medium bodied wine is ready to go. -Phillip Rich - Financial Review Magazine
